Since early in the morning, the main Indian TV networks and radio stations continually played a pre-recorded announcement by the Indian Prime Minister rejoicing in their hour of triumph. To the outside world that could not imagine the depth of India’s hatred towards its neighbour, the sight of such jubilation in the streets made a macabre spectacle.
