Chapter 6: The Meeting
The hours leading up to 8 PM felt like they were stretching on forever. Isabella couldn’t stop thinking about the note, about Lorenzo’s words, and what kind of game he was playing. Her mind was filled with a thousand questions, but no answers.
The Bellagio Hotel was an upscale, luxurious place, a stark contrast to the ordinary world she knew. It felt like stepping into another realm, one she wasn’t sure she belonged in. Yet, despite the fear crawling up her spine, she found herself standing in front of the grand entrance, taking a deep breath before stepping inside.
The lobby was stunning—marble floors, chandeliers that glittered like diamonds, and walls lined with artwork that only the rich could afford. Isabella stood still for a moment, feeling out of place in her simple attire. But as she moved forward, she reminded herself that she had no choice.
She asked the concierge about Lorenzo, and he gave her a quick, polite nod. "Mr. De Luca is expecting you. Please, follow me."
Her heart pulsing with nervousness and fear.
She wished she can refuse him but she had no choice but to comply to his wishes.
