The Mafias Obsession
Chapter 1: The Encounter
Isabella Carter wiped down the café counter, exhausted from another long shift. The place was nearly empty, with only a few customers sipping their late-night coffee. She sighed, glancing at the clock. Just one more hour until closing.
The bell above the door jingled, and she looked up. A group of men in black suits walked in, their presence immediately shifting the atmosphere. The café, once warm and quiet, now felt tense.
They weren’t ordinary customers. They moved with confidence, their sharp gazes scanning the room. And then, her eyes landed on him.
Lorenzo De Luca.
He was taller than the rest, his black suit fitting him perfectly. His dark hair was slicked back, and his blue eyes held an intensity that sent chills down her spine. Isabella had never met him before, but she had heard the name. Everyone in New York had. Lorenzo De Luca was the leader of the most feared mafia family in the city.
People whispered about him—how he was ruthless, dangerous, untouchable.
And now, he was standing in front of her.
He stepped closer to the counter, his eyes locking onto hers. “A cup of black coffee,” he ordered, his deep voice smooth yet commanding.
Isabella’s hands trembled as she grabbed a cup. She tried to focus, but she could feel his gaze burning into her. As she placed the coffee in front of him, their fingers brushed for a brief moment. A shiver ran down her spine.
Lorenzo smirked, as if he had noticed her reaction. He took a slow sip of his coffee, never breaking eye contact.
“What’s your name?” he asked.
She hesitated. Talking to a man like him could mean trouble. But something about him was hypnotizing.
“Isabella,” she answered quietly.
His smirk widened. “Beautiful name.”
Her heart pounded. She needed to walk away, to put distance between them. But she couldn’t move. Lorenzo De Luca had already caught her in his web.
And deep down, she knew—this was only the beginning.
