Lydia’s POV I sat on the edge of the soft bed, staring at the golden lamp in the corner of the room. The room was too fancy for a prisoner, but that’s what I was. No one had come to speak with me. No updates. No food. Just silence. Why is it taking so long? I thought, standing up and walking toward the door. I pressed my ear against it. Nothing. It had been hours since that strange man brought me here and said William would see me soon. I was tired of waiting. I began to pace. Something’s not right. Why is everyone acting like I’m invisible?
