The Beginning of a Story
The wind blew the dense foliage, and sunlight scattered through the treetops on the path. Ariel rode her bike slowly, enjoying the scenery. Suddenly, a gust of wind whistled, blowing up large leaves and forming a small swirl. Elise, who was far behind, seemed to be affected by her high emotions and said loudly, 'Not only the wind, but we are all seeing you off.' Elise's words were accompanied by the sound of birds twittering. The whole valley seemed to be boiling with sadness at her departure. A few days later, a young girl with long flaxen hair, whose green eyes twinkled as if they could speak, moved into a residence in the Rose Community on the west side of the town of Rossini. She only brought a few essentials, such as most of her clothes, and packed minimally. With fewer things, she was able to fit them into her grandma's car, which appeared to be on the verge of being scrapped. She spent the afternoon cleaning the house and decorating it to look cozy. The house had dark wood floors, light white walls, and her favorite lace curtains. The bed was warm and cozy, with fluffy soft pillows that were sure to make for a good night's sleep. She used almost three-quarters of the money to buy this small house with two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen connected to a living room. Ariel converted the second bedroom into a study by adding a desk she got from her mother, along with a second-hand laptop. Although not brand new, it is very precious to them. Ariel comes from an unmarked valley where a group of isolated people live and work in peace and happiness. For generations, they have guarded their family's secrets. Every 20 years, someone is sent out to study the knowledge of the outside world and then returns to share it with the community. Ariel has been selected for this task. Before leaving, Elise's mother gave her a second-hand laptop computer, along with some notes and money. Ariel is now embarking on a brand new life. The alarm clock did not wake the birds outside the window, nor did it wake Ariel who was still in the scent of her dreams, she awoke to the sound of the birds flapping their wings. Today was her first day of school, she deliberately set the alarm earlier, casually ate some chocolate cereal she bought at the supermarket yesterday, grabbed her book bag and car keys, and hurried out the door. The whole sky was foggy, as if it was going to rain at any moment, birds flew low in the sky as if to greet her, and as the car started, a patch of cloud came with it, hovering over the city. The rain drizzled down on her car and the pedestrians around her picked up their pace, her hut wasn't very close to the school, it was almost 4 kilometers away, but the scenery along the way was nice, it was just a shame that it was raining. An annoying murmur came from the old radio in the car, and with that smoky voice singing, it was kind of a nice morning. Although she had never been to the school before, Ariel found the place easy to find, with its neat rows of red brick houses and trees, and many cars already parked on the side of the road, while her car was out of place in the crowd of luxury cars, like a chicken that had strayed into a jackal's den. Before she even got out of the car, eyes were already focused on her, Ariel calmly picked up her book bag and closed the door before walking towards the crowd, dressed in a white dress with a tasseled belt around her waist, she walked along the crowd through a section of gravel road and opened the door. The hall was filled with people, she followed the guide to the office, the office was not big but it looked quite luxurious, there was a solid wood table inside, and the floor was covered with a brown carpet made from the fur of an unknown animal, the walls were filled with pictures of celebrities and medals and awards and on the counter next to the window there were also some antiques. In the chair sat a man with gray hair, upon seeing himself come in the man stood up, "Ariel Cerico right?" Before Ariel could answer, the answer was on his face. "Yes." "Just a moment," the man's words fell, he took out a stack of documents on the table, "Here is your course schedule, and another one is a school map, as for your tuition, you are the first poor student our school has accepted, and the school committee decided that the tuition would be completely free, so you don't have to worry about the tuition problem. "He took a few sheets of paper and handed them to Ariel across the table. Ariel looked at the map in the hallway, trying to take it all in, and after looking at it for a while she put it away and walked to the classroom. It was a large classroom and the girl walking in front of her suddenly turned around and almost ran into Ariel, luckily she dodged a bit and didn't collide. The girl in front of her had blonde hair, slightly curly, with stylish black framed eyes, and wasn't very tall, probably about half a head shorter than Ariel. "Sorry, I almost bumped into you," the girl said. "It's okay," Ariel said softly, slowing down her tone of voice, using as gentle a statement as she could to express that she wasn't angry, after all, she had just arrived in an unfamiliar environment and it was best not to make any enemies. "I'm Zoe, nice to meet you." "I'm Ariel, I'm a new student." "So you're the poor student who's making all the noise," Zoe said, immediately feeling like she had said the wrong thing and hastily added, "I'm not talking about your family's condition, don't mind me haha." Ariel waved her hand, "What you said is also true, my family really doesn't have a lot of money and can't afford the tuition here, the school can let me study for free, which helps me a lot."
