chapter 1 kill~him!
“Mighty Igor, I want you to end the ungrateful kid the same way you ended his father, Austin Li, the King.”
The man, on the other hand, replied in a cold and eerie voice, “Fifty million dollars.”
“Deal. Let’s take care of this together once and for all.”
In a dimly lit hotel room, a group of five men and one woman sat around a table. They looked elegant and wealthy. Unknown to them, someone had already sneaked into the room before the meeting began, eavesdropping and recording their entire conversation.
Tristan, on the other hand, stood hidden nearby, his chest pounding wildly. He already knew that his four uncles were the ones who had killed his father, Austin Li—the greatest and wealthiest king in the country.
But he couldn't believe that his mother, Ariana, the Queen, the woman who had always acted lovingly toward his father, had joined hands with his four uncles to take his father's life.
This was too much for him to handle.
And then there was the last man. He was the most ruthless and dangerous person in the city.
“Hmmm…” Tristan swallowed hard.
“Raymond, why do you think we should kill the son after killing the King, his father?” Wilson, the oldest and moderately tall man in the group, who was in his forties, asked.
“Dumbass! Didn't you know that when Tristan grows up, he will cause trouble for us? He already knows who killed his father. What do you think will happen when an unwanted plant is allowed to grow?”
A tall man named Franklin spoke.
Of course, Franklin had been King Austin's closest friend.
His words reminded Tristan that people could be cunning and scheming, especially those who were closest to you.
“Raymond, I have tried every possible way to get the ownership documents from that stupid boy, but he refuses to tell me where they are. Now that he already knows you guys killed his father, Austin Li, the King, it will only increase his suspicion if I mention the ownership documents to him again.
“So, it's better to end him once and for all. That way, he won't come back to claim the inheritance.”
Suddenly, Ariana burst into laughter.
“Your crazy brother actually thought he could own the first prince and the second princess. What a joke!”
She laughed again.
“Thank goodness I only gave him that stupid and troublesome boy—Tristan, the last prince.”
Hearing this, Tristan felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over him. His throat became dry, and his expression turned sour.
No wonder.
His father, Austin Li, the King, must have known something like this would happen. That was why he had handed over the ownership documents of all the Li family's businesses to Tristan—the Li Aircraft Company, the Li Automobile Company, the Li Holdings Company, the Li Universities, the Li Hospitals, and the Li Hotels.
What?!
How could his mother, Ariana, be so heartless?
Enough.
He had to hand the evidence over to the police today, no matter what.
The six people were still engrossed in their conversation when they suddenly noticed something moving beside the wardrobe.
Everyone immediately became alert, looking around to make sure no one was watching or eavesdropping.
Suddenly, the person hiding behind the wardrobe sprang up and ran out.
“What?! How could this be?” Ariana said, panic spreading across her face.
If any of their words got out, she would be finished.
“Michael!” she called.
“Yes, my Queen.”
Before he could answer, Ariana slapped him hard across the face.
“This is a place you arranged, right?! Now find the intruder! Or else…”
She leaned closer.
“Read my lips. You are done for.”
“Igor, didn't you bring your men?” Raymond asked in a panicked voice.
“Relax, Raymond. I have already ordered my men to block all the exits. Chill.”
He gently patted Raymond on the back.
“If we can't get the ownership documents from him, let's kill the bastard prince immediately!”
The Queen declared, her expression turning cold.
Half an hour later, the intruder was brought back into the room.
His eyes were filled with tears.
“M-Mom…” he choked out as he looked at Ariana.
“Shut up, Tristan! You are just as useless as your father, Austin. Giving birth to you was a mistake. You ungrateful child!”
“Ariana, easy,” Raymond said. “You are being too harsh on the young prince.”
He turned toward Tristan and spoke softly.
“Tristan, if you give Uncle the ownership documents, you won't be killed like your father, Austin Li, the King. I am willing to take very good care of you like my own son. I will even let you travel around the world.”
He smiled.
“Tristan, where are the ownership documents? Please tell me.”
“Uncle, are you sure?”
Raymond's eyes immediately lit up.
“Of course! Tristan, you are my elder brother's child. I will do everything for you.”
“But the documents aren't with me right now, Uncle. They are at the…”
“Where?!” all six people shouted in unison.
“Tristan, hurry up!” the Queen urged.
Tristan looked at his mother's eager expression. The hot tears he had been holding back for so long finally rolled down his cheeks.
“They're at North Bay Sail in Jiang.”
“Take me there!” Raymond ordered without a second thought.
“Prepare the cars!”
Fifty minutes later, a luxurious car pulled up at Jiang Sail.
Containers were arranged neatly throughout the area.
Tristan stepped out of the car, followed by the six people and a large number of bodyguards.
“Haven't we reached the place yet?” Raymond asked impatiently.
“No. We are almost there.”
A few moments later, Tristan stopped.
“We're here.”
Suddenly, a loud THUD!
Something had fallen into the water.
“What?!”
Everyone was shocked.
They hadn't expected the young boy to pull such a trick.
“Kill him!” the Queen screamed.
A rain of bullets followed.
TWELVE YEARS LATER
“Where are you coming from at the middle of the night, Felicia?!”
Mr. Williams almost screamed his lungs out.
“Dad, keep your voice down! You're shouting!” Felicia snapped.
“What?”
Mr. Williams stared at her in disbelief.
“Just look at yourself, Felicia! Look at the state you're in!”
He shook his head.
“Have you forgotten what happened? You almost got r***d, you nearly ruined the Williams family's reputation, and you almost destroyed my upcoming election!”
He took a deep breath.
“If it hadn't been for that brave guy, Tristan…”
“Felicia, please, come back to your senses. I have put so much effort into my upcoming election, and I don't want it ruined because of your stupidity.”
“f**k off,” she muttered.
Felicia staggered up the stairs without looking back.
