Chapter-2 Prophecy

1641 Words
General Saige had to be her father, he was the only one who could really nurture the war that the infant had bought with it. Saige was the only one who could bear the weight of the heavy struggle that his child was born with. That man was brought up in a war along with his general father. He was a good man though, and the only blood, he shed was on the battlefield. He could do the right upbringing of someone whose blood was desperate to ooze from the skin. General Saige's wife was pregnant with their second child. Their first son Talon was a Beta much to the surprise of his Alpha father. Saige wanted a warrior, someone who would be worthy of being called the son of General Saige, who risked his life to save the Alpha King from Rogues. He needed someone who would keep up with his name. Being a Bloodrose wasn't easy. Their ancestors made great names and you had to maintain that. The Elder Priest of the coven Christian's prophecy was never wrong. He could be a prophet writing the gospels of Forever Forest. So when Saige was told that his wife is pregnant. He took her to Christian to know what she held in her womb. "AN ALPHA." He prayed desperately. Christian had placed his hand on the evident baby bump in her womb. It was something he had never felt before. When he opened his eyes, they were wide with surprise. An aura of courage and miracle surrounded Edith's womb. As if what she held was more than a child, more like a new dawn of the Forever Woods. ‘What is it?' Saige had questioned and Talon had stared at his father having no idea of what they were saying. All he knew was, that his sibling was coming home. ‘I don't know, but a warrior is on its way.’ He had answered. He had looked at the pregnant lady and smiled wide. ‘You are giving birth to someone who is destined. I don't what for.’ ‘It means it is an Alpha.’ Saige was on the ninth cloud. AN Alpha, and that to a destined one. He couldn't have been happier. ‘Thank You, Edith.’ He had placed a lingering kiss to his wife's forehead, with eyes glassy. Saige had never been happier. Having an Alpha son was an honor, and in his case his Alpha son was destined. He already knew what he'd name him, he'll be called Everard. Meaning ‘brave’, and he indeed was ‘brave’, but he wasn't a he. The following night Edith fell down a flight of stairs. Everyone said that the baby wouldn't survive the miscarriage. But Christian was right once again, a warrior was on its way. The doctors were stunned when they could feel a heart beat evident in Edith's womb. ‘It's a miracle, the baby is alive.’ The doctor had said with her eyes wide. Never had Christian seen such miracle, but a far he was seeing something else. If a warrior as great as Saige's child was coming, then a war similarly great was following. For Princes are born with silver spoons, beggars are born hungry and warriors, they are born with a wars. Saige wasn't surprised, he already knew his baby was a warrior. He was sure it would be an Alpha and he couldn't have been happier. Everard was stronger and according to Saige, he could make it out of every miscarriage, that might fall on him. But the happiness was not about having a child; it was about having a warrior. Saige didn't realize that he didn't care about his child as much as he cared about his child's kind. But who was he to deny that he had been chosen for a job much bigger than that of a father. The news had spread, everyone was excited, and they knew a new dawn was coming their way. Even Alpha King Lucifer had promised to be there at the baby's birth. Lucifer and Saige were good friends. During his son Lucien's birth, rogues had entered the walls of the castle. Saige had saved him and his son, since then Lucifer was always thankful to him and his favors. Two minutes into the delivery and a crowd was standing outside the house of General Saige. General Saige was inside, with Christian, Talon, King Lucifer and his son Lucien. Saige just wanted to cradle his child in his arms. He couldn't wait to see Everard's face. He wondered what he'd look like, will there be evident fire in his eyes? Will his cheeks glow with divine light? Will his lips resemble the color of brave blood? Will he really save them all? Another five minutes and the doctors made their way out with a bad news. ‘The umbilical cord is stuck in the baby's neck, it may not make it out.' They declared in misery. Everyone thought Saige would be devastated, but he was not he knew, his child was a warrior. This was his life, life of war. The child's war had begun even before he entered this world. He had to fight his way out, unlike other infants he wasn't going to be fed with a spoon. Another fifteen minutes and the baby was out safe and sound. Everybody was stunned, they knew the baby wasn't ordinary, but that moment had been exceptional. Perhaps, the gods had guarded the child. ‘It's a girl.’ The doctors had said. Saige was disappointed. The baby wasn't an Alpha. Saige lost Everard. All his excitement disappeared at once, when his dreams were broken. He thought that at least his second child will bear his kind, but the infant was a girl, meaning she was not an Alpha. ‘Saige, I think she is a beta destined to greater jobs.’ Lucifer had placed his hand on Saige's shoulder. So Saige kept hoping that probably his destined child would do something that an Alpha is incapable of. When Saige first saw her eyes, he was stunned. Those were beautiful emerald green in color, but they held something. They held power and a light. That was all Saige saw. But Christian saw past them, the infant's eyes held dawn. They held the new sunrise of the Forever Forest. Christian had seen it, he knew she was blessed. ‘It's time.’ Christian declared. It was time, indeed. It was time to find out what, she exactly was. The process went like this. The infant's blood was dropped in a vessel full of alcohol. If the blood settled at the bottom, it was an Omega. If it floated on the surface, it was an Alpha. If it mixed with alcohol, it was a beta. Many times the drop didn't show any movement, those were times when the child would be a Gamma. Sometimes the blood settled on the walls of the vessel, it meant, Delta. Rarely the blood would disappear, which meant the child was a Rogue. Saige's daughter was held tight in his arms. When Christian cut through her flesh with the sacred blade, she didn't flinch or cry. Everyone was certain, she'd come out as a Beta. The blood was dropped into the vessel of alcohol, everyone waited impatiently and the blood settled at the bottom. She was an Omega. Saige was blown away, an Omega. But she was supposed to be a warrior. The moment news went out, the crowd disappeared like it was never there. Lucifer told words of comfort to his trusted general and then left with his son. An Omega couldn't be the bearer of a war. Saige placed her daughter in the crib halfheartedly. Christian hadn't known what went wrong, but he didn't leave, he stayed close to the child he believed was a miracle. Talon kept playing with the fingers of her little sister. While Edith lied weak watching her husband and daughter. Not like Saige didn't love his daughter, but her daughter was an Omega. Someone who was incapable of keeping up with the Bloodrose heritage. She was lovely, and Saige's fatherly instincts had kicked in but she wasn't Everard. ‘You may think, I am crazy Saige but this girl is not ordinary.’ Christian had said, looking at the infant that kept looking at Talon curiously. Her green eyes blinked when Talon touched her. Christian caressed her forehead lovingly a smile, taking over his face. ‘She is a warrior, Alpha or not.’ Saige had whispered to himself and then picked her daughter up in his arms again. ‘She is a warrior.’ Saige couldn't give up on her. His daughter will make his dreams come true and she has to. His father would do anything so his daughter doesn't become a time piece is somebody's bedroom. He'll make sure she moves more dirt than the mere amount that will be needed to bury her. ‘She is an Omega, Saige.’ Edith had weakly warned. She knew no one would allow an Omega to touch weapons or enter the war zone. She knew. ‘I don't care.’ Saige was so engrossed looking in the eyes of his daughter he almost forgot about anything. The enchanting pair of green eyes, were full of the same passion that was evident in a warrior's eyes. ‘The incidents before her birth were unusual. These incidents are unknown secrets that, beholds some very interesting events.’ Christian explained, looking at the infant cradled in Saige's arms. ‘I, Saige Bloodrose, of house Bloodrose, and coven pack Crimson Canines; son of Saber Bloodrose name my daughter Whisper in honor of the secrets she has bought with herself.’
