There is nothing but destruction and devastation, decomposed corpses everywhere, and all trees and plants are dry. There is no life in this place. Light said, trying to calm Lilith, "Where have you brought us, you fool? Where is this place?"
Dark replied, "Don't worry, we are just inside the wave at its farthest point from the center."
Light, his shock mixed with anger, grabbed Dark by his clothes and said, "Are you insane? You've killed us! You've brought us to a place from which the strongest human soldiers and their armies never returned. And you brought us here alone. If you intend to die, die alone, you crazy i***t. It seems you've lost your mind."
Light released Dark and calmed himself down. "Sorry, I got a bit carried away. What's your purpose in doing this?"
Dark answered, "You finally calmed down. You said it yourself, the strongest humans and their armies. Isn’t that your goal, great strength to protect those you love? Do you think sitting in a tavern and killing some escaped monsters will make you strong? Aren’t you too old for such foolish fantasies? You can’t have everything; you must sacrifice. If you decide to survive, you must sacrifice those you love and what you love. And if you must save those you love and what you love, you must sacrifice yourself. This is the purpose of living in this filthy world. Most of the time, the loser in the eyes of people is the winner because the goal he sought might seem silly to others, but he is proud of that trivial achievement and feels it’s worth his life. Values differ; some think a piece of bread is more important than life, some think s*x, others wealth, and the list goes on. There are things that are worth it and things that aren’t. Perspectives differ. Do you think soldiers in battles fight for glory? The answer is no. They know that glory will go to the lord with the fat butt sitting in his castle, having s*x with women and taking drugs. They also know that their chance of returning to their families is slim. So why do they fight in your opinion? Are they tired of life? Of course not, human instinct drives them to seek life even in hell. So why do they fight, in your opinion? Of course, your answer would be for what they love."
He put his hand on Light’s shoulder and continued, "Light, don't lose those you love. Dying with honor and pride is better than living in regret for losing those you love. Pain and tears in the pursuit are better than the pain of sadness and sorrow."
Light looked at him and said, "I understand your words and their meaning. So, what should I do?"
Dark replied, "I know you have many questions, and I have all the answers. I will tell you everything when the time comes. Your mind still can't grasp that. All you need to do now is seek the strength to protect everyone."
A moment of silence followed as Light pondered Dark's words and the parasite's words. He looked at the sky, its dark red color reminding him of the past he wanted to forget. His thoughts were interrupted by Lilith, who said, "Oh, Uncle seems great, even saying beautiful things I didn't understand. Long live Dark, long live."
The ridiculousness of the situation made Light laugh out loud, followed by Dark, breaking the tension between them.
Light said, "What will we do now?"
Dark replied, "For now, we will go to a secret place of mine in this area."
Light had many questions in his head but knew he would understand them with time. He just needed to wait until the time was right.
He and Lilith followed Dark until Lilith said, "Isn't it strange that there are no monsters here? Isn't that what you told me about, Uncle?"
Dark answered, "That's because of you, little lizard. Your dragon aura repels weak monsters from our vicinity, and it seems your aura concentration reaches a distance of three and a half kilometers. But at the same time, it is dangerous because, as it repels weak monsters, it attracts strong ones. The dragon heart evolves them to another realm of strength. I will teach you later how to control your aura."
Lilith, feeling scared, hid behind Light throughout their journey after Dark's words.
Dark paused and said, "It seems we have arrived."
Light and Lilith looked around in the place with nothing but rocky mountains.
Dark said, "Welcome to my hideout, my secret hideout. I hope you like it."
Lilith said to Light, "It seems Uncle has lost his mind. Didn't I tell you that before?"
Dark said, "Shut up, you fool. Not long ago, I was changing your diapers, and now you say this to me."
Lilith, embarrassed and teary-eyed, hid behind Light, saying, "p*****t, Uncle, you perverted fool. Stay away from me, you idiot."
Light looked at Dark and said, "Stop joking. It seems you’ve gone too far with your mockery."
Dark said, "Okay, okay."
Dark opened his bag and took out an empty paper, then started chanting some incantations.
The ground began to move like an earthquake, revealing a cave in the mountain. Dark said to Light and Lilith, who had shock on their faces, "Follow me."
They entered the cave entrance, lights turned on, and the gate behind them closed. They walked for about two hours without stopping until they reached a wide area with a house overlooking the rest of the mountains. It seemed there was only one way to get there as the mountain on the other side was vertical, and no creature could climb it.
Dark said, "Can I repeat my words again? Welcome to my hideout."
Light said, "You are really crazy."
Dark replied, stretching out his words, "Thank youuuu for the compliment."
Lilith said, "And what will we do now, Uncle?"
Dark said, "Dragons transform to their true form for the first time after a year of birth, and the worse their control over their energy, the faster their chance of death. As for Light, he will train on killing monsters and developing himself. Be aware that you will not leave here until you have eradicated the first three stages of the storm. You must also develop and sharpen your minds to avoid falling into a state of collapse. Know that your chances of dying are exponentially higher than your chances of surviving. You can now go take a bath and rest, and tomorrow I will start training you."
Lilit responded with a military salute and said, “Okay, Mr. Uncle.”
