The Girl in Black IV

1770 Words
The entire cafeteria gasped in horror – the scene that she was causing. Everyone, including myself, was surprised when she suddenly turned her tray upside down right at Gavin Heartlock’s head. The Gavin Heartlock. The quarterback of the university’s football team. “WHAT THE f**k?!”  Gavin stood up and saw her standing behind him as the food slowly ran down his clean clothes. His eyes were fuming with anger, moreso when he realized it was her. My heart raced for her. I was slowly walking towards the area where the mess was happening like everyone. The scene formed a crowd, and the other students started taking photos and videos of what was happening. Gavin was a big deal in our university after all. I was sure the students thought it would be viral once they release this defenseless quarterback. I didn’t know why she did that, or what went to her head for doing something like that. Maybe it was normal for her to do these stuff but I was sure no one would do such act for no reason. Or is it… She just stood against him fearlessly like Gavin wasn’t miles taller than her – like she wasn’t afraid of the consequences of her actions. Gavin stood in front of her with a fuming glare as if he’s about to bite off her head. He’s not going to hit her right? He’s still a guy and she’s still a girl. You can’t hit a girl… right? “Did you just f*****g throw your food at me?” Forest bent down the floor and picked up the fallen food she had dropped over his head and threw it at his chest which Gavin did not obviously expect. “That is throwing.” Gavin was so shocked that he was speechless. Only his brows were creased. “This is pouring.” She repeated the same gesture but with the tray she got from the other table. “See the difference? Which method do you want me to use next time?” She asked before giving Gavin one last glare and walked out of the cafeteria, fanning out the formed crowd, leaving the place in silence and in disbelief. Gavin cursed out loud, frightening the whole cafeteria with his uproar, but I kept my stare at the last place Forest was seen while Gavin still roared in anger. He ran out of the cafeteria probably to shower and get changed. The pasta looked utterly disgusting the moment it landed on his white shirt. My heart was still uncontrollably beating fast because of what happened. I’m just thankful right now that Gavin was man enough not to run after her and beat her until she dies, but if he did, I might get myself involved. Although, I can’t say for sure I would be much of help considering I’m never really active with physical, fist fights. Soon enough, the cafeteria was filled with murmurs from what happened. Gavin’s friends, however, looked like they were amused of what she did to their buddy. They seemed to me teasing the poor lad. “See what I mean? Now tell me that’s not something a psychopath would do.” I heard Harvey say from my side. I still think not. “What’s going on? Why are they whispering so much?” I heard my seatmate, Selena, ask the girl that just passed by our row. I wasn’t the listening-to-other-people’s-conversations type of guy but this one, I couldn’t help it – partly because it had something to do with the woman that’s been bugging my head for days now. “Forest Young from the FA Department’s fighting with Jenny.” Hannah replied to Selena. It seemed that it was supposed to be a whisper, but I clearly have good ears when it comes to matters like these – matters of her. She almost got into a fight with Gavin and now she was fighting with another girl. I had no idea her time of rebellion was this random. “Forest as in the spawn of evil, Forest?” “More like daughter of Lucifer himself.” Daughter of Lucifer. “Jenny’s so done for good once Forest lays a finger on her filthy skin. Girl, even boys tried to beat her but they wouldn’t come close to her gangster skills, whatever that is!” Is it true that she single-handedly fight whoever she picks? Or everyone’s just exaggerating things that were happening. No one really tries to know the different side of the story unless no one talks to her. “How so?” “Haven’t you heard? She has, like, some kind of connection with hell! I mean, Jenny’s quite stingy too but come on,” Hannah stated in an are-you-serious type of tone. “Stingy versus evil? You can imagine how that goes with your eyes closed!” “I guess you’re right.” I wonder if they’re purposely talking and gossiping this loud for others to hear. I’d guess, yes. “I bet you Forest couldn’t stand her personality as much as we do. She’s honestly doing all of us a favor.” Hannah added, rolling her eyes as she looked away. “That b***h deserves a karma slap in the freaking face. Forest is the only one who can kick her ass without being screwed by the school.” “As expected, Forest’s really cool.” It is her. I mean, the moment they said Lucifer and evil, it must be her and I couldn’t stop myself from going for it. “Excuse me, can I ask something?” I asked and the two girls turned to me by surprise. I normally wouldn’t dare talk to anyone in my class but I just had to right now. I had to keep a thick face if I wanted to make a move on her. Or at least let her know I exist? “M-Mark, yeah. What is it?” The girls looked completely surprised by my sudden appearance in their conversation. I would too. I was never the eavesdropping type. “This girl you’re talking about…” I looked down shyly. I was embarrassed of what I was doing but it was far too late to take it back as I was already diving in her life the moment she took my drink. I was already joining the conversation uninvited and it felt wrong, in some way. “You mean, Forest?” I nodded frantically. “Can you tell me about this girl?” Now I didn’t want to appear like a creep who’s suddenly interested with her, and I’m not sure I delivered that role quite correctly because they both looked at me like I was a weirdo which one would maybe say, actually. “W-Well we don’t know much about her but—” “She’s really cool!” “And scary!” The two replied simultaneous. “If you ask about a person, shouldn’t you be asking someone who’s actually hanging out with her?” I froze. I almost felt my heart drop dead down the floor at how terrifying that voice just sounded. It felt like it came out of nowhere. The ones you hear and watch from horror movies. I was hesitant to turn to my back to see who spoke but I was in my desperate moment where I really needed to find out who she was. And not just by her name. When I turned, I saw a girl sitting behind me with both her feet lying on top of her arm rest. Her arms were crossed in a manner that a guy would so I was confused if I was talking to a man or a woman considering the fact that her – or his – hair was short-short, partly shaved and she had a chest – she is a woman. Why did I even think she was a man? Jesus. “What the f**k do you want from Four, kid?” She suddenly asked making my knees feel wobbly. Four? Forest? “I just—” She suddenly smirked, making me feel a bit iffy. I was conscious of myself, all of a sudden. That smirk was unknown to me after all. “Damn, that b***h got another man under her spell.” I blinked. If they were friends, I was surprised that she was calling her friend like this. I mean, I wouldn’t call Harvey something like that. He’s my friend, and I always believed that word was bad to have it as a nickname for someone. Maybe they’re portraying a different kind of friendship – the kind I wasn’t familiar with. Something only they would understand. “I just want to know more about her.” “Four doesn’t tell s**t about herself.” Oh. And I’m supposed… to think that they’re friends… now… right? “We just know her by name and it could be a lie too for f**k’s sake.” She shrugged, looking sideways. “If you want to actually know about her, there’s no one who can tell you but Four herself.” I gulped. Talking to someone she, maybe, hangs out with was terrifying. And kind of… useless. I didn’t know why she was making my knees tremble. I felt embarrassed? But I brought myself into this so there’s no turning back, I guess. I can only assume now that this person I was talking to right now will be speaking to Forest about this and will tell her about me. She didn’t even say anything about Forest. She… just said this and that… “You’re not the first who got interested, kid.” She wheezed out loud. So she has always been the mysterious type of girl. That even guys get hooked to. “Believe me, a lot have tried to win her but it just never happened.” She grinned, shaking her head like she was mocking me which I was absolutely trying to deny. “They all gave up and crawled back to other hoes they can reach, crying like a f*****g baby.” She laughed out loud, as if she was trying to make fun of them. “T-That’s quite—” The girl suddenly pulled me by my collar and grabbed it close to her face causing me to crouch away. “Take my advice and just don’t.” I gulped. “It’s a death wish to even think about talking to her.” I gulped. Extremely terrifying. “That woman’s a real constipation to diarrhea in the ass.”
