Cookie Chapter I
As I was walking out of the school after my classes, I wasn’t expecting I’d bump into Forest in the park. She was raking the lawn with the same vest that the school workers use. I’m guessing this was some sort of punishment for what she did a while ago. I’m more surprised that the school was giving her this service to atone for the troubles she caused.
Just when I was about to approach her, Gavin suddenly appeared and pushed her by the shoulder. She was taken back from the force he made with her but remained firm on her ground.
I immediately stepped back and hid at the nearest object that would hide me enough to hear what they would talk about.
“You think you can just throw food at people and get away with it by cleaning school property?” Gavin barked at her as he slowly stepped closer and closer to her. “You think you’re so tough just because no one dares to fight back at you for being proclaimed as evil?”
Forest wouldn’t bulge. She was just letting the man push her by the shoulder.
Gavin was pushing her like he was ready to pick a fight with her, and I was ready to jump in if ever that happened. I wouldn’t stand away and watch. Although, I doubt there’s much I can offer her for protect. I wasn’t keen to physical fights. I was never built for that sort of environment.
“What, you can’t move a muscle now just because no one’s watching?”
At that, Forest grabbed his wrist and twisted it in the opposite direction causing Gavin to exclaim the pain that must have felt. Even I felt it just from watching from a distance. She really knew how to fight. Intelligent and systematic fighting too. She held onto her grip firmly as she slowly pushed him back and he was hurting. “You think I do it for attention?”
This time, my heart was racing for what she could do to Gavin. He already looked like he was struggling enough. I couldn’t imagine how strong her hold was.
“I’m not like you white assholes who do everything to get into holes.” She raised her chin up, creasing her brows at Gavin as she spoke. “I wouldn’t have done it if you kept your hands to yourself.”
“What the f**k are you talking about?!” He exclaimed more as she twisted his wrist even further. “Ack!”
Forest glared at him. “Now you pretend you weren’t taking photos of that girl’s skirt below the table?”
My mouth gapped at her statement.
“Is this what they teach you in football? Being dickheads and scumbags?”
I gulped. So Gavin did do something and I was right when I thought she wouldn’t do something unreasonable. That was a heavy accusation but if she was talking about it like this, and serving Gavin his rightful punishment, why is so no one talking about the justice she’s trying to make for people?
“I didn’t do anything!” Gavin replied, gritting his teeth but immediately shrieked when Forest twisted his wrist more. “f**k!” He cussed out loud.
Forest eyed him with so much disgrace and disgust. “Stop branding me as one of your kind because I will never be like you trash people.” She heavily said, pushing and releasing her grip on Gavin, causing him to drop down the ground.
And I was getting lured into her world more than I anticipated.
