20 It felt more like pushing through a cobweb than anything else. The fabric dragged along my face, but it didn’t stop me or cling. It was just there, a light thing caught on my nose. Then I took another step, and it was gone. Everything had gone dim for a moment while I walked through the curtain, but once I was past, I was in another room. There was one light that looked like a giant, glittering chandelier in the middle. Tiny candles burned all over it.
