21 I didn’t mind the walk through the dark on the way back out of Lola’s. It didn’t feel like I was being trapped forever this time. Instead, I didn’t want the blackness to end. Once we got through, I would be leaving my mom behind and leading my best friend and Elizabeth to do something dangerous that could get us all killed. Well, really Eric was doing the leading. But that didn’t make me feel any better. Not even a little bit. The blackness ended, and we were standing at the top of the wall.
