“What do you mean I’m going to the states?” I asked confused. Aleks suddenly announced that he would be sending me to his family in the states so I could be there.
“You’ll be safe there”
“I’m safe there. Is this about yesterday? I promised I would never go out alone. Why do you want to send me away”
“I’m not sending you away. I’m going on a business trip and I won’t be able to watch you while I’m gone”
“But it wouldn’t be the first time. I can stay by myself. I’ll remain indoors and not step a foot outside until you return”
“It’s different this time. I’ll stay longer”
“How long?” I asked dreading his answer.
“Three months” I could feel the tears clouding my vision.
“Then take me with you. Please don’t send me away. I want to be with you” I cried.
