The night’s events went on. There was a fiery speech from Charlie Hansborough, last year’s Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate, followed by a more muted, awkward speech by the chair of the county party that consisted half of fringe Democratic policy positions and half of “thank you’s” to all the members of the county party who had organized the banquet. The keynote speaker was the one everyone was excited about: Governor Quinn Schneider of Colorado. Schneider was introduced by the county chair, who sped through Schneider’s introduction, clapping loudly as she got off the stage and he took it.
