Carolina's POV:
"Sir, I need to get my bag and change out of this red dress," I replied sadly, but Mr. Karen summoned two security men to throw me out.
"Hey, don't touch me!" I screamed as the two security men walked up to me. They grabbed my arms and carried me out of the club.
"Hey! Put me down!" I shouted, but the security men acted deaf and dropped me outside the club.
"Hey! Leave here! You're not welcome," they said before striding back into the club.
Stunned, I feared maybe I had brought bad luck to my best friend, Lucy. But she wasn't fired.
Standing on my feet, I dusted my arms and legs and waited for Lucy to close and to get my handbag because it contained my phone and my clothes.
I couldn't go back home wearing this revealing red dress.
'What would I explain to my mother?' So I paced about at the front of the club, waiting for Lucy to close.
"Hey! What are you still doing here? Leave!" The other security man at the entrance yelled at me, but I replied bluntly, "I need my bag. I am not going anywhere without my bag."
The club entrance slide open, and two men in black suits, like business partners, walked out. However, I was stunned because one of the men was the same handsome man whom I was chatting with earlier. He peered at me in shock, seeing my embarrassed state.
"Hey, are you alright?" The man rushed over to me, and I was sure he had seen when I was thrown out. So, I lowered my head as he approached me.
I was so uncomfortable in the red dress that I was wearing, and I saw him taking off his black coat and draping it around my shoulders.
"I'm sorry, sir, but you don't have to do this. Just help me tell them to return my bag to me," I said to the attractive stranger, even though I didn't know who he was. He seemed like a wealthy man, even though I could feel the icy demeanor emanating from his sharp gaze.
"Your bag? Where is it?" He asked, glancing around in search of my bag, and I pointed at the entrance of the opulent clubhouse.
"In there."
"Bright! Who is she?" The second man asked the attractive man before me, letting me know his name, as he walked up to meet us.
"I don't know her, but I saw her earlier when I arrived, and I was waiting for you too. Do you work here?" Bright asked, shifting his attention back to me. As he stood next to me, his gaze crawled on my skin and pinned me intensely.
"No… I wanted to work here, but I was thrown out," I muttered, and his gaze narrowed.
"By who? Come with me, and Gabriel, we will see later," Bright said as he firmly clasped my left hand and led me back into the club. I was stunned and confused, as I didn't know him.
"Sir, you don't have to worry. I don't want my friend to lose her job because of me," I said, but he already led me back into the club.
Surprisingly, the security men didn't stop him, and I wondered who he was.
*Who is he? Why is he trying to help me?* I pondered, following him into the club.
"Who threw you out?" He stopped and asked me, even as the music was loud. I could hear him. However, I spotted Mr. Karen and pointed at him.
"He's the boss. I only want to take my bag, and I can't do what he says," I replied, my gaze lowered.
"Mr. Karen," Bright called, and my eyes widened at the way he called the manager's name.
The manager rushed to meet us and looked at me in shock.
"Yes. Boss, what is the matter? Do you need anything?" Mr. Karen asked, looking from me to Bright worriedly.
"Do you know this woman?" Bright asked, still holding my right hand firmly by my wrist.
Mr. Karen peered at me as I looked at him too.
"Yes, Boss. I was trying to help her, but she is chasing our client," he explained.
"How did she refuse to help your client?" Bright asked, his voice stern, and I looked from him to Mr. Karen.
"Sir, she was rude and didn't want to serve the guest," Mr. Karen replied nervously, and unable to explain the real deal.
"Is that true, miss?" Bright asked, now looking at me.
I met his red eyes, which I hadn't seen from standing outside with him, due to the darkness outside.
I was surprised because his eyes were red, like he was angry or had been shedding tears.
"Um, I can't sleep with a stranger; that is why he sacked me. He says that I will have to sell my body to please the client," I said, my arms wrapped around my chest.
"Mm... it's not compulsory that you must do that. And is this why you dismissed her and threw her out? Where is her bag?" Bright demanded, looking back at Mr. Karen, who looked at me.
"I do not know, boss. Where is your bag, miss?" Mr. Karen asked, and I looked at Lucy, who was looking at me in surprise.
"On the second floor," I said, recalling that I gave my bag to Lucy to keep for me.
"Go and get it, and I will wait for you," Bright said, and I looked surprised.
*Wait for me? Why should he wait?* Anyway, I went back to find Lucy, and she went up to the second floor and brought my bag.
Once I got my bag, I knew that I didn't have enough time to change out of the red dress, and I apologized to Lucy. "I'm sorry."
"It's fine, Caro... but how did you meet the big boss?"
"The big boss? Who is he?" I asked her, but seeing Bright was looking at me, as Lucy and I walked out of the elevator.
My cheeks unknowingly flushed, and I smiled at him before looking back at Lucy.
"I need to hurry back and return his coat," I said, and she replied, "It's alright, Carolina. You can go to my house. Here's the spare key," Lucy gave her key to me, but I pushed it back to her.
"You hold it. I will wait until you close from work," I said, knowing that she closed late.
"It's two keys, Caro. Take it. I might not be coming back on time, and I have a client to meet with," Lucy said, and I looked at her face, wondering if this was worth it.
"You have to go and do not keep the big boss waiting. Later, you will tell me where you met him," Lucy said as she quickly walked away before I could stop her.
Sighing, I looked back at the man who was still waiting for me. I walked over to meet him and pulled his black coat off to return it to him.
"Here's your coat, sir. Thanks for your help," I said, wanting to leave, but he stopped me and asked me, "Wait, what's your name?"
