Outside Annie's house

*Third person's POV*

Peter: Wow! So much drama around you, Ann. Haha!

Annie: Yeah, keep making fun. I shouldn't have told you at the first place!?

Peter: Haha, you & drama go way back.

You remember how things ended between you & Zack? Dramatic as hell.. haha

Annie: Pete, please, you know I don't like to talk about him.

Peter: Why? You were head over heels for the boy. I could almost see pink hearts popping off your socket. I warned you but you...

Annie: Please. Just shut up already..

Peter: ...and how did he pay you off for your love?

Annie: I said SHUT UP!!

*bamm*

Annie closed the car door & rushed inside her house.

She shut the door & collapsed against it.

She heard Peter calling her, asking her to open the door, "Ann, open the door, I swear I didn't mean to hurt you. I thought you are over it. It's been 4years already. Come on, open up! I am sorry"

But her mind was on something else now.

She felt her heart break again, just at the thought of Zack. She could never forget the humiliation, the trauma, everything she went through.

*Annie's POV*

*sobbing*

'Why?

Why would Peter suddenly mention him? He knows how much this upsets me.'

Peter kept calling me, but I didn't wanna answer him. The less I think about Zack, the better.

I quickly took a shower & changed into my comfy pajamas.

Now, only sleep could fix my mood.

Morning, 7am

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I stayed in bed for sometime staring at the ceiling, thinking, how my life changed over the past few years.

'I used to be so timid & shy when I met Za... no, no no! Don't think about him! No!'

I quickly left the bed & completed my morning chores, had breakfast & left for the hospital.

'Here comes a new day'

I decided to take the bus to hospital since facing Peter was the last thing I wanted right now.

'I just need some space. It's not like we're fighting though! That's next to impossible..'

At the hospital, 9am

I started with visiting the surgical ward to check on the post-op cases.

After checking on few patients, as I finally walked into Mr. Lee's alloted room, I saw a man sleeping on the chair next to him.

I took a closer look.. it was that weirdo from yesterday.

He seemed so calm while sleeping.

I chuckled remembering his face last night while apologizing. He was so nervous!

And now, he was just lying there~ his head on the patient's bed, snoring with his mouth wide open, saliva drooling from the corner of his mouth...

'Dear Lord, he just sucked in the saliva'

"Haha", I couldn't stop laughing at the sight.

He suddenly opened his eyes, only to find me staring back at his drooling face.

He quickly stood up & bowed saying," I.. I am so sorry.. I didn't realise when did I fall asleep!"

Annie: "You stayed up all night?"

Jin: "Y..yeah."

Annie: "Okay. Now that I am here, you can go & take some rest. If something happens, the nurse will inform me"

Jin: "Gamsahamnida"

Annie: "...uh.. gam...what?"?

Jin: "oh ? sorry, I meant, thank you"

Annie: "ohh"

Once Annie was done with her check up, Jin left the hospital to take some rest.

*Third person's POV*

Since that day, Annie would find Jin waiting for his friend everyday she came to check on the patient.

In one such day, while Annie was entering Mr. Lee's room, she heard them talking to each other.

Chang: "Haha! Don't pretend. I know that day Brutus pulled your pants down infront of the entire class!"

Jin: "Noooo! Nothing like that happened"

Chang: "Don't lie. Namjoon told me later. Just one day, I didn't go & you couldn't manage yourself ?"

Jin: "That Namjoon!!! I'll..."

Suddenly Jin stopped talking to the sound of laughter coming from behind. He turned to see Annie standing.

Annie: "So that's what happened?"

Jin: "No! He's lying!"

Chang: "No, I'm not!"

Annie: "Good morning Mr. Lee. You seem pretty energetic this morning. How are you feeling?"

Chang: "I feel fine. Just a bit of pain in this area."

Annie: "Let me see.."

"It's completely fine. The pain will subside. I won't add any further medication since you are already on analgesics", she stated after thoroughly examining Chang.

While Annie was doing her job flawlessly, Jin couldn't help but admire how able & how much a strong woman she was. She was living the life once Jin dreamt of.

Yes, Jin wanted to be doctor when he was a kid but music was his first love.

After examining Chang, when Annie turned to leave, she found Jin staring at her.

"What?", she asked him, "You wanna say something?"

"No! You.. uh.. never mind", he stuttered.

"okay. See you then...

.....and Mr. Lee, since you are doing fine, we will discharge you on Friday", she informed.

"Day after tomorrow?", Chang enquired.

"Yes", Annie asserted while leaving the room.

Jin stared at her back while she left. He was completely smitten by her presence.

'What is this feeling?', he thought.

"You like her, don't you?", Chang asked him all of a sudden, breaking into his thoughts.

"whaaaaa? No!"

"Really? You gonna lie to me now?"

"uh... "

"I'm waiting... take your time"

" I don't know man...uh...maybe a little?"

"Jin! You were staring at her, looking like a teenager... haha"

"okay, bye!"

"No, wait. Dude seriously though, if you like her then do something instead of just looking at her & blushing."

"I wasn't blushing", Jin said defending himself.

"That's not the point babo! I will be getting discharged day after tomorrow, then what?"

"Then what?", he repeated after Chang.

"You won't be seeing her anymore, you i***t"

"Sh*t....uh... what shall I do?"

"Ask her out"

Jin was having his morning coffee. His mouthful of coffee spilled on the floor on listening to Chang...

"Have you lost your mind? She'll think I'm a creep! Moreover, remember I told you how I misbehaved with her?"

"She won't! If I am not wrong, she doesn't dislike you. If she did, she won't be smiling & talking to you."

"She's just being mature & professional, Chang."

"Okay, that might be the case but why are you deciding for her? If she doesn't wanna go out, she'll say it on your face."

"What if she gets mad at me for..."

"Stop overthinking & ask her already!", Chang grumbled, getting frustrated at Jin.

*Jin's POV*

I kept thinking the entire time on my way back to the hotel.

'Shall I ask her out or not?'

I couldn't help but sigh,"Such a drag!"

*entering hotel room*

"Hey! How's Chang?", Namjoon asked.

"He's fine now."

"Okay, you take some rest. I'll be going there in sometime."

"Okay. Um.. hey Joon"

"what?"

"How do you ask somebody out?"

"what kind of a question is that hyung?"

"No, never mind"

"Hey! Speak up"

"Umm.. I kind of like somebody & Chang said that I should ask her out. I won't be meeting her after few days...so...."

"It's Dr.Williams, isn't it?"

"Chang told you?"

"No, Jin. I saw the way you look at her with dreamy eyes. Also, you keep talking about her the entire time we are at the hotel. How strong & talented she is... yada yada... We already knew you like her"

"You did?"

"Yep & I'm pretty sure you're the last one to realise"

"um.. then what shall I do?"

"Simple. Do as Chang said. Ask her out. Give it a try"

"Okay"

At night, outside hospital

*Annie's POV*

'Ugh! Got so late.. Annie how can you be so stupid!'

I completely forgot to collect the car from the mechanic.

The thought of calling Peter flashed through my mind but I recalled our conversation few days ago.

'In no way I am calling him'

I stood in the bus stand for almost 15-20mins. It was getting pretty late but there was no sign of bus. The streets were almost deserted..

I was about to book a cab when suddenly a car came & stopped right infront of me.

Jin: "Hey, you fine?"

Annie: "Y..yeah.. I was just waiting for the bus"

Jin: "It's pretty late. Do you need a ride home?"

Annie: "Uh.. I can wait. I'm sure the bus will come. If not, I'll book a cab"

Jin: "I can drop you, you know"

Annie: "I don't wanna cause you any trouble."

Jin: "You won't. I was going back home anyway"

Annie: "Umm, you sure?"

Jin: "Pretty much."

I got into the car & took the passenger seat.

Jin: "So... where to?"

Annie: "345 xyz road"

Jin: "Okay, here we go"

We kept quite throughout the ride but somehow the silence was comforting.

.....

"Hey", he said breaking my trance.

"Hm?"

"We are here, tell me where to stop"

"Oh, right. Sorry, I kinda spaced out... There, stop infront of that house"

"This one?"

"Yeah"

He stopped the car infront of my house.

"Thank you so much..uh?"

"Jin", he said reminding me his name.

"Yeah, thanks Jin"

"You're welcome"

"So.. um..see you later?", I said opening the car door.

"Yeah......

uh.. can I ask you something?"

"Sure"

"Are you free this weekend?"

"I have to check. Why?"

"I was thinking... you know.. if it's okay with you... will you go out for a coffee with me?", he asked fidgeting with his car key.

"As in a date?"

"Y...yeah... I guess?", he spoke, scratching his neck, showing obvious signs of his nervousness.

"You do know that you are my patient's aquaintance, right?"

"......yes, I do. I'll completely understand if you don't want to. I... um.. sorry... I shouldn't have a....."

*laughing through nose* "I'll think about it"

"huh? Did you say....?"

"Goodnight, Jin"

"W..wait.... you said you'll... Hey...."

*Third person's POV*

"Wait...you said you'll... Hey...."

Jin called Annie, but she didn't wait, she wanted to maintain the tension between them.

Annie entered her home & closed the door behind her.

She couldn't just stop grinning at the way she left him hanging for her response.

At the hotel

Jin entered the room, searching for Namjoon..

"Joon!!"

"yeah?"

"I...I asked her out."

"Woah! You did?"

"Yeah"

"She agreed?"

"Not yet, she said she'll think about it"

"...okay"

"What does that mean?"

"Just that you need to wait now, until she responds"

"Why? :'( What if she denies?"

"Well, you just have to wait for that as well", said Joon, laughing at his hyung's innocence.
