EP 14: CONFUSIONS

COVINGTON POV Out of fear, I closed my eyes again. This time when I opened my eyes, I was in my home living room in Arabia. But I couldn't touch anything in the room. "Am I dead?" I asked myself. I saw some people searching for something in the house but didn't know what. Samuel came in, and the situation went worse. I couldn't do anything to save him. Then, I saw Bethany appear to the rescue. I just stood there, not being able to do something. Once again, the ground started to shook. I hold onto the wall. Soon it stopped, and I opened my eyes. There, I saw Sam and Lexi stood beside me. I stood up from the floor and approached Sam. "Sam, are you alright? Are you hurt?" I asked him. He answered, "of course, I'm fine," with a smile on his face. "By the way, how did you come here? Where did you go? What took you this long to return?" Lexi asked me. "What? I went yesterday morning and came tonight. It's just one day. And, I came with the helmsman." Sam laughed as I replied. "Why are you laughing? Am I doing something funny here?" I asked him, and he stopped laughing. "You came back with the helmsman? He came here the night you left. Then how did you come today with him? And, it's not one day, Godwin. It's been three days since you left. Did something happened there?" Lexi asked me. I sat down on the couch after hearing I was away for three days. "What happened, Godwin?" Samuel asked again. It took me a few minutes to find my lost voice. ALEXIA POV We didn't know what to do. Godwin looked so terrified. I felt something is not right with him. But I couldn't make a guess. After a few minutes, he started to talk. "The thing is, we have to go to the kingdom together. Many of my questions are still unanswered. We have to go there without Bethany knowing this. I met the man you said about Lexi. But no use. He wants to meet you two. Let's leave tomorrow morning," he said. "No, wait. We leave the day after tomorrow. No hurry now." I said. I didn't know what he was thinking, but, suddenly, he became cautious. "Where is Bethany, Sam?" Sam looked up at me. "We don't know. She left home the day you leave and didn't come back until now." I said. "You don't have to worry, Godwin. She might have gone to work. She will come back once the work finish." Sam said. I didn't know what to say, so I left them both and went to the kitchen. SAMUEL POV Lexi went into the kitchen. Godwin looked at the for a long time. Suddenly he asked me about the attack. "How did you know that?!" I exclaimed. "I had a vision of it. Also, who was the lady?" I seriously didn't know what to answer. Lexi walked out of the kitchen, holding a cup in her hand. "Here you go, Godwin," she said while giving it. He took a sip of it and looked at Lexi. "Are you not going to tell me anything that happened?" He looked at me and asked once more. I seriously had no idea what he thought. He pulled Lexi and made her sit beside him. "Come on, Lexi. You know what happened." She looked up at me. At last, we gave up and told him everything. "Rubies? But I have it what?" he pulled out a pouch from his bag. But nothing was in it. "Where did it go?" He asked, surprised. Lexi and I both laughed at him. "Did you forgot? You gave it to him before you leave." He realized and laughed at himself. "Leave it. Did you both try to find out who the Master is? Did Bethany talked anything about this?" We shook our heads. "Not a problem, we still have more time," but then he shooked his head, "no, we don't have much time left. We have two options. One, we need to find who the Master is and why Bethany is working for him. Two, we need to leave for the kingdom. We can find answers to our questions." We both nodded. "First, we have to wait if we want answers from Bethany. Let's see. If she shows up before we leave, we can ask her about these things. If not, we have to find it in the kingdom." I said. After a few hours of talking, Godwin went to sleep. Lexi went upstairs with a bottle of wine. I followed her upstairs. COVINGTON POV I saw Lexi and Sam going upstairs. I followed them without making any sound. "What are you looking at?" Sam asked her. But she didn't reply to him. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked her. "Yeah, I'm fine. You don't have to worry. You should worry about your sister," she said. Worry about Bethany. Did something happen to her? I thought to myself. "I know. But we don't even know where did she go," Sam said. "We shouldn't be sitting here and doing nothing, Sam. She has been missing for three days. We should do something. We might don't know if something happens to her after we leave." Lexi lamented. "Don't tell me what I should do and don't, Lexi! If she is not around, it means she is busy with her work! Can't you understand this simple thing! What if something happens to her? What do you mean by that? You want me to take responsibility for that? Listen carefully, Lexi! If something happens to her, you will be the cause of it! I don't care for whom she works. If she is in danger because of you, I won't sit still!" He threw the wine bottle from the table and left the place. I hid well so he won't notice me. After he left, I stood there and watched Lexi. She stared at the ground for a while. "I know. I'm the cause here. Because of me, you sacrificed your life for me, Sam. If Bethany is the rabbit lady, she might have killed you to kill me," she fell on her knees as a drop of tear escaped from her eye. "I don't know what to do. If I know, I will do it no matter what," she started to cry. I walked towards her and wrapped my arm around her. "Am I that bad, Godwin?" she asked. I was surprised by how she recognized it was me. She cried her eyes out while hugging me tightly. Soon she fell asleep. I carefully put her on the bed beside me. I sat down beside the bed. While sleeping, she looked more beautiful. I tucked her hair behind her ears. Without me knowing, I fell asleep beside her.
