EP 8: THIS TIME SHE BLUNDERED

COVINGTON POV

The morning came and, the sun-kissed me through the window. Sadly, I didn't want to get off the bed. The bed was soft, which made me stay a little while. Suddenly, I saw something moving under the blankets. I peeked inside the blankets and, "Ta-da!! Why are you still in bed? You said today we visit the man. Hurry up! Let's go!" Sam screamed on top of his lungs while pulling me with him. "Fine, give me five minutes. I'll be ready." I said and, and he let go of my hand. I got ready and went into the kitchen. Sam was searching for something in the kitchen. So I went in and asked, "what are you searching for?". "Me? Yesterday night, I kept my beer in here. But now it's gone. Did you took it?" He asked and, I shook my head instantly. "Did you saw Bethany? Or, do you know where she is? She might have taken it," I said. "I can't believe this! How dare is she to do this!?" He screamed in anger, fake anger. "Enough, dude. Don't you know we have more things to take care beside this beer," I teased him and, we both got out of the house. While going out, I saw Bethany coming in. "Where you guys are going, that too this early?" she asked. "We are going to meet Alexia. She had invited us for nothing. See you later, Sister!" Sam answered, and we started moving from there.

On our way, Sam asked, "why did you lie to her? What if she finds it out? Won't we get caught?" I answered, "no worries, dude. If she asks us these kinds of questions, it means she is following us. The moment she asks us, she is doomed. Don't you know curiosity will kill you? If she is the one who destroyed our lives, she won't be living a long life. Let's go now." With that, we reached Alexia's home.

BETHANY POV

With all the jokes they made of me, I went home with them. I felt they were really up to something after the lady told them about their past lives. I might don't know what that is, but I'm sure of one thing. When it comes out, it's going to be a problem for me. I should find about it before Covington finds it. Covington is more dangerous than my brother.

I came back after taking a shower and saw Samuel and Covington sleeping peacefully in a cozy bed. I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge. "Just a beer bottle?" I thought to myself and took it out from the refrigerator. With that, I went out to meet the master. "Here you go, Master." I handed the beer to him. "Listen, Covington and his friends started to get suspicious of you. You made yourself into trouble. Don't you know how Covington's brain will think? Did you forget your past?" He grabbed my neck while anger rose in him. His eyes went red, and his string fangs came out. That one second made me think about my life. But then, he let go of me and, I fell on my back. "I have never seen an i***t person like you. I told you to get my rubies back, but you waited for him to steal them." I was shocked at what he said. "He!? Was that Covington? Since when you knew it? Why you didn't tell me about it?" I asked him. He turned to face me and, "you should stop asking me questions. I have told you to behave yourself, and I'm not coming for you again. I'm giving you one last chance. This time if you get caught, take care of it yourself. Always remember, just because you know about them and can see their past through visions doesn't make you complete. Even if you get caught, don't ever spill the beans. Especially don't tell them about me and my stories. If I know you have uttered a word about it, no one can save you. Forever you will be in the ground hell. Focus on your work and keep this in your mind. I'm leaving now." With that, he left the place.

 I felt so dumbfounded. Until now, I have been sticking with Covi and Sam while they hide everything from me. I stayed there until the sunrise. I had no plans so far, so I went back home. There I saw Covi and Sam leaving the house. I asked them, and they said they are going to Alexia's house. They were in a hurry and looked like they had some plans for the day. So, I decided to follow them. When they knocked at Alexia's door, someone opened it for them. I went to the house's rooftop but heard nothing. Soon everyone came out of the house and moved towards the place I'm staying. "What are they planning to do? Whatever it is, I'm going to rain on their parade today. When it all gets ruined, I will get to set an impression from the master.

ALEXIA POV

Godwin and Sam arrived at my house. "How did it went? Did Bethany showed any signs?" I asked them as soon as they got in. "Calm down. She saw us leaving the house. We have to move now. If everything goes as we planned, We might be able to find the answers. Until then, we have to keep our mouths zipped. You got it?" I nodded after Sam finishes explaining. We left my house and headed to Godwin's house. At the time we arrived, Bethany was coming out from the kitchen. She noticed us entering the house and approached us. I have no idea what she was thinking, but she blundered the moment she asked us the question. "Why are you guys came here along with Alexia? Did anything happen? By the way, the detective sir came here searching for you three. He said there was a shred of evidence is missing. Do you guys know anything about it?" Sam came forward and replied, "no, we don't know anything. By the way, why do you have so many questions?" Bethany stood silent. Without saying anything, Godwin went to the chair and pulled out a pouch from his pocket. We everyone knew what is in there, except Bethany. He took out the ruby and asked, "Bethany, do you know what is this?" Bethany's eyes widened and, she asked, "how did you get it? Did you steal it from the crime scene?" She blundered. Godwin laughed out loud and stood up from the couch. He stood beside Sam, one hand on Sam's shoulder and the other holding the ruby. "Didn't I said? Look now, what happened? CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT!" Godwin continued laughing along with Sam while Bethany stood there dumbfounded.
