Chapter 4

One hour later, ten Maseratis halted in perfect alignment in front of the Olson's villa. Darryl scrambled out of the driver's seat, hurriedly opened the car door, and respectfully ushered Josh and Lizzie out of the vehicle. "We've arrived. Please step out of the car." Darryl said with a fawning smile. The two of them got out of the Maserati. " "Don't worry, I know what to do." Darryl motioned to his men, who swiftly followed behind, carrying silver briefcases. The group strode into the Olson family villa. At the same time, the Olson family was in the middle of a lively feast. Glancing at the time, Alani sneered, " Only twenty minutes left, and that fool still thinks Darryl will personally deliver the money? Ridiculous!" Monte added, "Four years ago, Josh bailed on the wedding and disgraced our family. If they end up dead at Darryl's hands, they'll have only themselves to blame!" Before Monte could finish, the villa's door was flung open with a bang. Blinding lights flooded in, revealing two blurred silhouettes. "We are back with the money. It's time for the head of the Olson family to honor his promise!" Josh's voice echoed through the hall. Everyone froze for a moment. When they saw the two standing empty-handed, Monte smirked dismissively, "Money? You came back empty-handed, huh? Where's the money?" Erick didn't even bother to look up, saying indifferently, "I bet they chickened out and never even went." Ignoring them, Josh pulled Lizzie along and walked straight to the center of the banquet hall, scanning the room. "Darryl will deliver it himself. That's the only way it'll be sincere." With that, laughter echoed throughout the villa. However, the laughter from the crowd didn't last long. The rhythmic sound of countless footsteps suddenly echoed outside the villa. Darryl, dressed in a black trench coat, strode in, flanked by two teams of men in black. Under the astonished gazes of the Olson family, he walked straight to Josh, his face beaming with a sycophantic grin. His men hurried forward and placed the briefcases on the table, knocking over dishess. Darryl turned to Monte with full respect. "I was blind to the fact that the Olson family had such a powerful backer. The 10 million debt is paid in full with interest. I'll take my leave now and won't intrude further." With a nervous glance at Josh, Darryl quickly retreated with his men. The room fell into a stunned silence as everyone stared at the silver briefcases on the table. 'Who? A powerful figure? Josh? No way! He's just a fool!' They thought to themselves. Alani was the first to react, cautiously opening a briefcase. The sight of it filled with cash made everyone's eyes sting. Exactly 10 million dollars! "Did that fool get the money back?" Alani's face turned pale. "And Darryl personally returned it?" It took a while for Monte to recover. Staring at the pile of money, his heart raced. "Josh, who exactly are you? How did you get Darryl to deliver this?" Just then, Valerie hurried in, explaining, "It wasn't Josh, it was all thanks to Mr. Mitchell. He's interested in Lizzie, so he stepped in to help!" The realization dawned on everyone. 'It makes sense, a top-tier group like Mitchell Group has the power to do this.' In light of the repayment, Monte announced with great joy, "Since Lizzie got the money back, I declare that she is reinstated as a member of the Olson family, and our previous promises remain valid." "Three days from now, you'll appear at Alani's birthday party and announce your return," Monte waved his hand and said casually. "Thank you, Grandpa" Lizzie said. Just then, Josh's phone rang. He glanced at the screen before quickly stepping outside the villa to answer it. "What's up?" Grover's respectful voice came through. "General, Emmitt is hosting a banquet at the Masia Manor to apologize to you in three days. Would you accept it?" Josh thought for a moment and replied, "Tell him to come pick me up that day." *** Three days later, a pink Porsche was parked at the Masia Manor. Alani, dressed in an elegant red gown with a slender swan-like neck and a diamond tiara, stepped out of the car like a princess. It was her birthday, and she intended to be the center of attention. However, a stretch limousine soon diverted everyone's gaze. Following behind were numerous luxury cars, each worth no less than millions. "Wow! Isn't that Mr. Emmitt Howard's car?" someone in the crowd exclaimed. "If Mr. Emmitt Howard is here, he must be meeting some big shot." Alani stomped her foot in frustration for being totally ignored. The stretch limousine pulled up at the Drakonia Estate, and all eyes followed as the driver rushed to open the door. A young man stepped out and walked toward the estate. Someone nudged Lizzie and whispered "That guy looks like your id**t husband." Lizzie's heart skipped a beat as she took a closer look. "He does." Hearing this, Alani mocked, "The Drakonia Estate is reserved for Granville's elite to receive distinguished guests. There's no way Josh Parker would ever set foot there." "Hahaha, as long as he doesn't crash your birthday party, he can go wherever he wants!" Erick laughed, leading the others toward the Golden Estate. *** At the entrance of the Drakonia Estate, everyone stood and looked at Emmitt, their hearts pounded. "Mr. Howard, who is this big shot we're meeting today?" "We haven't heard of any major figures coming to Granville lately." Emmitt glared at them, scolding, "His identity is top secret, so you have no right to know. When you meet him, address him as 'Mr. Parker,' and keep his identity in secret. Don't you dare offend him, or you'll die!" Emmitt's stern warning sent a shiver through the Granville elites, silencing them. Just then, the room's door opened, and a young man walked in calmly. Everyone froze when they saw Josh's face. No one expected that the person Emmitt had personally come to welcome was a young man in his early twenties. "Mr. Parker, forgive me for not greeting you sooner!" Emmitt stepped forward with respect, smiling apologetically. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Parker!" Seeing this, the Granville elites hurriedly presented their gifts, a prestigious black card from a bank, a crystal, an array of extraordinary items, each worth a fortune! "Just leave them there," Josh said casually, pointing to a corner. The priceless gifts were casually piled up in the corner. Seeing this, everyone felt a jolt of anxiety, thinking their overly flattery had upset Mr. Parker. They were so frightened, not even daring to breathe loudly. Sensing the tension, Emmitt quickly tried to smooth things over. "Where's your wife? I was hoping to invite both of you to dinner." "No need for that. She's attending a birthday party at the Golden Estate." Emmitt was taken aback. He wantd to make a good impression, so he discreetly messaged Darryl to take care of it. Moments later, the door of the Golden Estate was knocked. A servant opened the door to see a waiter entering. Glancing around, the waiter asked, "Who is Lady Olson?" "Mr. Parker from the Drakonia Estate has sent a top-grade diamond ring as a birthday gift for Lady Olson."
