Chapter FiveEven though the surveillance op was supposed to involve only the shifters on the squad, Jill still tagged along to offer whatever support she could. It was dark, and had been for many hours, so Jill couldn't see very well out of the windscreen of the Land Rover which she had parked around the back from one of the main shopping areas in town. Streetlights were few and far between in this area.
Since the burglars had hit Church Street last, Detective Tate had pointed out a shopping center near the train station as a likely next target. It fit the pattern. The thieves never hit the same area twice in a row, and they’d shown a preference for high end retail stores selling either jewelry or watches. This complex contained many such potential targets.
