Loving him

CHAPTER 9

Anna had woken up in the morning with a light headache and her throat was feeling dry. She groan and shifted in her bed trying to get up and go have some water in the kitchen. Finally after some few groans followed by some regrets of drinking alcohol, she got up from the bed making her way to the kitchen.

She took a glass from her cupboard ,fill the glass with water from her kitchen sink tap and drank. She filled the glass three times and drank before she felt like her thirst was quenched but her headache didn't go away. She putted the glass down on the kitchen counter with a groans and touched her soaring headache. She left the kitchen and was about to go back to the bedroom when she glanced at her sitting room to see someone sprawled in the sofa snoring. Upon seeing who it was her eyes popped out and she cursed under her breath remembering last night.

She approached the big sofa where her guest was and set opposite him contemplating whether to wake him up on not. She hadn't decided what to do when her guest started to woke up and she froze.

Jonathan had woken up, adjusted his eyes to the light illuminating the room and saw Anna sitting there frozen like she's been caught doing something she wasn't supposed to do.

Jonathan wiped his face with his hand and smiled at Anna and said "morning " with a raspy voice. She stuttered "m..o..r..n..ing" shyly looking down. Jonathan sat up on the sofa amused and asked "You okay?, how you feeling?", remembering last night. Anna couldn't meet his eyes for some reason and it was amusing to Jonathan more and he smiled at her.

Anna spoke almost unaudible" I'm okay just got a light headache", she then cleared her throat. Jonathan kept quite for a while observing her, then he said "you will need to take a pill for your headache, I promise you, you'll feel much better afterwards but you need to eat something first". Anna nodded.

Jonathan stood up stretched his arms a little bit before asking "let's make you something to eat in the kitchen, come and show me the kitchen" beckoning Anna to lead the way to the kitchen. She stood up and led the way, Jonathan followed behind

"Okay what do you want to eat?" he asked while pulling the chair for her to sit in the kitchen. Anna sat on the chair. She real didn't feel like eating anything so she didn't know how to answer Jonathan.

Luckily Jonathan didn't wait for her to respond he opted to make her coffee, whole wheat toast with avocado's. Anna ate the food silently while Jonathan just drank the coffee, after eating Anna then took the pill for the headache.

Jonathan and Anna moved from the kitchen to sit at the sitting room and chatted. Jonathan was trying by all means to make Anna feel comfortable around him because he noticed she was still a little bit reserved. He wasn't sure whether she was embarrassed caused he saw her drunk or it was something else caused she kept on not meeting his eyes, but he decided to let it go.

Jonathan was also fighting his battle he truly wanted them to talk about the kiss they had shared the night before, talk about who was Nelson the man Anna mentioned and also talk about what he knew he now desired the most after just spending a little time with Anna to make her his forever.

He knew it was not the right time to talk about those thing but he knew someday he was going to ask her.

From that day on Anna and Jonathan became good friends. They were spending a lot of time together at work and after work. Jonathan was picking Anna up in the morning from her home and traveled together to work and after work he would take her home and spend sometime in her house before going back to his home.

Jonathan had a habit of always greeting Anna with a hug and kiss in her forehead every morning when he picked her up and when he was saying his goodbyes he would do the same.

Anna would always freeze up in the beginning, even though she thought it was a too intimate for her but she got used to it as time goes.

Even though she was spending a lot of time with Jonathan she still missed Nelson very much and she will always check her phone for any calls from him but it was always nothing, there was no messages either and her heart will always sink.

Jonathan will catch her most of the time checking her phone and noticing how her mood will automatically change after that, so he always try and cheer her up which he was always successful at doing.
