Slim allowed us to sit in the cockpit for an hour, with the warning, “It’s not likely anyone will hear, considering our location, but if you’re inclined to shout or scream, I’ll be here fast, with one of your Tasers and a cleaver, and we’ll be on our way—you in considerable pain—before you can say Ha-Ha Killer three times.”
Rey and I chose to catch a few zzzzzzzs and relax for the first forty minutes. The next twenty we yammered about this and that, like house-reno projects and having missed Mink’s luau. She had to be pissed, big time.
