Introduction:
What is depression? And why do we feel depression? That's something we all are or definitely have been wondering about once in our lifetime. I'm gonna tell you about it now.
What is depression?
That's a question we all probably have asked before. Depression is a constant sadness. It's not just being sad for 30 minutes or so. It's the feeling of worthlessness, feeling like you're not good enough. It's the feeling of being sad all the depression. It can last up to a year or 3 years to cure depression. We always feel tired and exhausted.
How we are treated sometimes:
People look at us as "lazy" people when we're just depressed. People sometimes don't understand why we're always alone and tired. They often makes fun of us because they don't understand why we're acting certain ways. People think that we're saying that we're depressed so that we can get the attention we want
How depression makes us feel:
Depression makes us feel worthless, not loved and makes us hate ourselves. We don't see the valuable in us. We don't see how people can love us when all we see is trash. We have the constant voices in our head screaming "go kill yourself, you're ugly, no likes you, you're not worth anything". We have those thoughts of wanting to hurt ourselves. We make those red marks on our skin and say "oh, I just fell. It's nothing to worry about, haha" or "oh, it was my cat. It got mad and attacked me, haha".
Therapy:
If you are or know someone who is depressed, contact them and talk to them. Ask them how they really feel. Sometimes, all they need is a hug or just basically someone to talk to when they're feeling down. Go to a psychiatrist and talk about it. You can get medication for your depression. There are many ways to overcome depression. You can also do methods that can help you. For example: rubbing ice on the area you want to cut, or the butterfly method where you draw butterflies on the area and name it after someone you love. If you cut before the butterfly is gone, you kill it. So the point is to keep the butterfly alive as long as possible.
Message:
As I said, if you are or know someone who is depressed, contact them and talk to them. Ask them how they really feel. Sometimes, all they need is a hug or just basically someone to talk to when they're feeling down. For those who struggle with depression, I want you to know that you are not alone in this at all. I want you to know how beautiful you are and that there are so many people who loves and cares about you. Keep fighting and don't give up. There is always a light at the end. Depression doesn't last forever. Even though you're struggling, it doesn't mean it's the end. Take care, I love you.
