Andrea
The hands reaching for me disappeared first but the man remained, glaring at me. His eyes fell on the mark on my arm and he hissed angrily.
“What the hell is this?”
“Stay away from me!”
The door burst open. Kael stormed in, teeth bared, eyes glowing silver. Ronan followed behind him, storming into the place.
“What happened?” Kael snarled, scanning the room like he was ready to tear the walls apart.
“I don’t know,” I stammered, tears streaming down my cheeks. “He was just here. He had yellow eyes. He touched the mark and…and then he disappeared.”
Ronan was by my side instantly, pulling me to him. “Did he hurt you?”
I shook my head.
Kael walked to the window, looking out into the woods. His jaw clenched. “She shouldn’t be alone anymore. We can't have s**t starting up, she's not ready.”
“You think I don’t know that?” Ronan said snidely. His hand gently cupped my face, coaxing me to look at him. “You’re safe now, I promise.”
But I wasn’t. No one would tell me what was happening.
I swallowed hard. “What’s going on with me? This mark. The two of you. Which one of you is my mate? What does the mark mean?”
Kael sighed. “You will have to choose, Andrea, somehow. It's complicated and it's best if you get some rest.”
“I want answers now,”
“Well too bad you can't get them now,” Ronan said, his voice cold. That was the first time I had seen him look so cold and scary. I swallowed hard.
Just who were these Alphas? Why hadn't I heard of this before? Alpha Kael and Alpha Ronan.
Some things did not click.
“Ronan,” Kael called, warning him.
“Listen here, Andrea. If you want to be safe, you'll trust us,” The golden eyed man who had been sweet to me said plainly, eyes burning holes into my skin. “I don't care how f*****g confused you are, you'll do what we say-”
“Ronan!” Kael snapped, strutting over to him and hitting him.
Ronan staggered back, blinking rapidly. His eyes which had gone blank earlier slid back into focus and he looked… sorry.
He pressed his lips into a firm line before walking out the door.
“What was that?” I whispered.
“Forgive my brother, he has issues,”
That didn't seem like just issues, but I wasn't about to argue with him. I didn't want to know if he would also turn cold and demanding like Garrett.
I barely slept that night. I thought about the Alpha who had kissed me passionately in the SUV, the same man who snapped at me and tried to connect all the weird things happening to me in my head.
It didn't connect. Nothing connected.
I must have fallen asleep at some point because when I woke, Alpha Kael was gone and there was a maid walking around the bedroom. She bowed her head immediately when she noticed I was up.
“Mistress-”
“No, oh my gosh, no don't call me that,” I whispered, quickly getting out of bed. “And don't bow either,”
Just yesterday, I was in her position, doing what she was doing.
“I have to,” She said, glancing at the door with fear.
“No you don't have to-”
“The Alpha of the North will get mad if I don't!” She yelled and my brows raised.
The Alpha of the North?! I had heard about the Alpha of the North. A ruthless Alpha who killed or punished anyone who dated to defy him. He ruled with an iron fist.
“Don't worry,” I tried to tell her. “I'll tell Alpha Kael to step in if the Alpha of the North becomes too much to handle.”
She looked at me as if I was plain stupid, and looked back at the door. “There's nothing Alpha Kael can do about his brother. He can only try, but his brother is-”
The door pushed open and Alpha Ronan walked in. “His brother is what?”
My eyes widened as two things rang in my head. Alpha Kael's brother is the Alpha of the North. Alpha Kael's brother is Alpha Ronan.
All the terrible news I had heard about the Alpha of the North, rang in my head and I paled in fear.
“You… You're Alpha of the north,”
He sighed dramatically. “I would prefer you hadn't found that out soon, princess.”
The maid immediately dropped on her knees, eyes wide in fear, rubbing her hands together. “Please Alpha. I didn't mean to tell her, I'm sorry. Please spare me.”
“You didn't mean to tell her? She has been awake for barely five minutes and you already did. I chose you to be her maid, Cassie, because I thought you knew how to keep your mouth shut.” He said with a bored expression, stalking towards my bed to sit.
The way he carried himself, the cold, regal way reminded me a bit of Garrett. I flinched when he raised a hand and his eyes narrowed.
“You do not have to be afraid of me, Andrea.”
“It's hard not to be,” I whispered, wringing my hand nervously.
“You weren't afraid yesterday,” He murmured. “You definitely weren't afraid yesterday when I touched you. When I had your soft skin in my mouth,”
I flushed, feeling all heated up and embarrassed.
“Come here,”
I was about to shake my head when he growled.
“Would you prefer I come over there and throw you over my shoulders?”
That sounded even terrifying.
“I'll come,” I mumbled. “If you let Cassie go.”
He arched a brow then a small smile tugged on his lips. “I'll let Cassie go, if you give me a kiss. How about that?”
I bit my lip, glancing at Cassie who was still shaking in fear then nodded.
“Fine,”
Cassie didn't waste a second more. She bolted out of the room leaving me with a man rumoured to be the worst of monsters. His golden eyes darkened when I took shaky steps towards him. His hand reached out and yanked me towards him, making me fall in his arms.
He cupped my jaw, kissing the corner of my mouth. “Prepare yourself, Andrea. The weak do not survive in my world.”
