The awoken wolf.

Andrea Kael brushed his fingers over the mark on my arm, locking eyes with his brother before masking it with a smile. I almost believed the look on his face. “What is that?” I whispered, clutching my arm. It burned horribly, searing deep into my skin. I winced when Ronan grabbed my hands and began examining the mark. They both exchanged glances. They knew what it was, that much was clear. “Is it bad?” I asked, gaping at them both. Garrett on the floor beneath them and for a minute, I forgot all about the burning sensation on my arm when I saw how bloodied he looked on his face. Ronan cleared his throat. “It’s just… a sign your wolf is waking up,” he said smoothly, brushing a strand of hair away from my face. “Nothing to worry about.” “But.. I already have a wolf,” I mumbled. Yeah, Sapphire said within me, and I could tell she was not pleased with the answer she got either. One of them was my mate, I would never be able to find that out if I didn’t have a wolf right? Kael didn’t speak. He stared at the mark like it was a ticking bomb. “But it hurts,” I murmured. “Pain means your bond with your wolf is strengthening,” Ronan said gently “We are wasting too much time talking about things that don't matter. We need to get you away from that bastard.” I wanted to argue that a strange mark appearing on my hand was alarming and definitely something that mattered. They were lying. I could feel it. But I was too tired to question it. “Let’s get out of here,” Kael said gruffly. “Before Garrett wakes up and starts saying s**t. We attacked him in his kingdom. If his soldiers find out-” “I didn’t think you’d be scared of a few soldiers, brother. I knew making you rule the south would make you weak.” I heard Alpha Ronan say. “What on earth is your f*****g problem? I’m only worried because that means that we have to fight our way out of this place and we need to make sure our… she is in good shape.” GGold and silver eyes fell on me and i blushed under their intense gazes, Their banter was odd. I knew they were brothers but they were always antagonistic towards each other, it was too amusing. “I can’t… I don’t think I can walk,” I admitted, ashamed. My body was sore and my limbs were shaky. Ronan arched his brow. “And why do you think, princess, that I have got you in my arms?” “Who said anything about walking?” Kael grinned. “Relax, you're safe now.” “You don’t have to do this,” I mumbled into Ronan’s chest, burying my face in his chest. “I’m just… a slave.” “Don’t say that word,” he growled. “You’re not going back to that life,” Ronan added. “Not while we’re breathing.” I got carried away out of the pack house that I had known all my life into a black SUV. The Alphas ignored the stares of people looking at us and I got ushered into the vehicle. Ronan got in with me while Alpha Kael said he would follow right behind. The brothers argued again over where to take me. From my understanding, it seemed they were both Alphas of different packs and argued over which of the packs to take me. I stared at the mark on my arm, wondering what it was. They had been lying. I already had a wolf. And anytime I was with just one of them, my wolf only purred in satisfaction. But when the two of them were present, she would get all excited and say the word ‘Mate’ over and over. “Fine,” Kael yelled. He seemed to be more temperamental than Ronan. “I'm coming with you. I don't trust you around her.” Ronan only gave his brother a teasing grin before getting into the vehicle with me. The drive was quiet. I sat between them in the back seat, hyper-aware of both Alphas at my sides. Ronan held my hand firmly while Kael’s fingers would brush mine where our hands rested between us. It was too much. Too gentle. Too confusing. Mate, Sapphire purred again in my head. But which one?! At one point, Kael pulled a flask from his coat and held it out to my lips. “It’s not alcohol. Just healing tea. For the pain. It'll make you feel better.” I blinked confused when Ronan leaned in, brushing his lips against my ear. “Open up, princess.” The brush of his lips against my skin had me melting against him. My eyes closed when his tongue licked against my skin, sending shivers down my spine. My lips parted in a moan. “f**k,” Kael growled, drawing closer, cupping my jaw. He held the bottle between my lips while he kissed the side of my face. A sweet liquid poured out of the bottle, pouring over my tongue and I melted further, caged between the two brothers. Ronan's mouth moved down the back of my neck, sucking and teasing my skin until I was burning and aching for them. “I can smell her arousal,” Kael groaned, pulling away slightly. Through my half closed lids, I could see his eyes glowing in hunger and it only made me more excited. Goddess, what's happening to me. “Delicious,” Ronan murmured, moving to the nape of my neck, sucking on my sensitive skin. I arched against him when he scraped my skin with his fangs. “Oh goddess,” Kael’s mouth slid over mine, hungrily, devouring. The bottle of tea fell between us, forgotten while His hands roamed my body as well. “How do you smell so f*****g delicious?” He groaned against my lips. His hands pushed between my legs and parted them. “I have to taste you. I need to taste you-” “Wait, please,” I whimpered. Everything was moving way too fast. They both froze. Kael cursed then pulled away, picking up the bottle. He handed it over. Ronan held me anyways but stopped kissing and sucking on my neck. I felt a bit drowsy and he pulled me completely into his lap. “Not fair, man. Not fair,” I heard Kael mutter before I fell asleep. Why were they being so kind? So gentle? I had been treated like dirt for so long, I didn’t know what to do with softness. Or desire. When I woke up, neither of the Alphas were around. It was dark but I knew I was in bed. I looked around the room, blinking rapidly to adjust to the dim light. The mark on my arm glowed faintly. I touched it, sighing. None of this made sense. Something rustled by the window side. When I looked up, there was a man hanging on the window. He had sickly yellow eyes and a smile that made me terrified. . “I’ve been waiting for you, little wolf,” He grinned, reaching out creepy dark fingers towards me. I screamed.
