Five years quickly passed….
In a dimmed room full of dust and webs, the five-year-old Wu Chengyu was seriously reading a yellowish book.
The room had a gloomy atmosphere because it had never been open for almost two decades. This room was exclusively opened for him with the permission of the patriarch.
“So the world I reincarnated into was called the Infinite Celestial Spirit World. It is vaster than earth. In fact, the size of earth is just like a grain of sand compared to it’s infinite scope.”
Wu Chengyu flipped another page and then his eyes turned wide.
“What? Three thousand regions, a trillion miles wide each and separated by billions of miles of deadly seas!?” Wu Chengyu flipped the next page.
“Deadly seas are also called a world boundary because it separates each region. It is called by many races a deadly sea because it is the place of sea devils and other legendary creatures and experts. Despite the dangers within the deadly seas, many spirit cultivators would still try to go in hopes of finding great treasures and inheritances.”
Wu Chengyu’s eyes flashed with excited light as he closed the book.
“One day, when I got to learn how to cultivate my spirit tattoo. I will surely travel and see for myself how this world works!”
Wu Chengyu promised himself. During those five years, he wasn’t idle. He secretly familiarized himself with the languages and words of people inside the Wu Clan and when he was three years old, he secretly stole a book from the shelves to read. Of course, the most important part of Wu Chengyu’s learning is Bai Cihui. Bai Cihui’s teachings allowed him to learn quickly. After he learned how to read and speak, Wu Chengyu did not waste time and immediately asked for books to read.
The patriarch was greatly surprised and delighted, so he immediately passed an order to his subordinates permitting Wu Chengyu access to the old library within the ancestral hall. After finishing his reading session, he slowly stood up, stretching his muscles.
He looked around and sighed.
"This room, no wonder that older person gave me a wink. He must have thought that it was already almost two decades since this room was opened. So, his wink means that he wants me to clean this room in passing. Very well, since I will be using this room for a while, I might as well clean it to brighten the atmosphere.
Wu Chengyu walked around the room to find the brooms and other cleaning equipment. Four hours later, Wu Chengyu’s forehead was covered in sweat.
“Haahh, finally it’s done,” Wu Chengyu exhaled loudly and smiled. The once gloomy room is now sparkling and shining with splendor. The glass beams caused reflection that made the entire room reflect light.
Wu Chengyu walked towards the table and wiped its surface with his middle finger. Seeing no dust in his fingers, Wu Chengyu nodded in satisfaction. At that moment, a resounding laughter was heard.
“Hahaha, job well done, as expected of my grandson!” Wu Chengyu was startled.
He immediately turned around, only to see a big hand atop his forehead. The big hand touched his head and patted it roughly until it was messy.
“Grandpa stopped it! You’re ruining my hairstyle.”
Wu Chengyu tried to shove away the big hand, but it was futile.
“hahaha its useless little brat. I thought you were already used to my way of love.”
The patriarch let go of Wu Chengyu’s head and looked at him with fierce eyes. Although this grandfather of his had such eyes, Wu Chengyu could find gentleness and love within. So other than his mother and aunt Shuie. He was close to his grandfather.
“Love? Or do you just love to mess up my hair?”
“Oh, come on, don’t be like that. You're being mean to your grandfather.”
Wu Chengyu snorted and smiled in disdain. Seeing his reaction, the patriarch laughed loudly. The grandfather and grandchild laughed together when seeing each other’s expressions.
Tapping Wu Chengyu’s shoulder, the patriarch smilingly said, “Child, tomorrow is your baptism. I have great expectations of you.”
Wu Chengyu smiled wryly and shook his head.
“Don’t expect too much, grandpa. You might be surprised to see your grandchild’s talent only amounts to trash.”
Wu Chengyu jokingly said.
He was confident about his own talent and abilities. As a being from another world and was reincarnated here. He was confident that his uniqueness and the anomaly of his existence would give him a head start from his peers.
"Alright, I will be there tomorrow. Give grandpa a nerve rocking surprise!”
The patriarch rubbed Wu Chengyu’s hair once more before striding forward with broad steps. Wu Chengyu watched the patriarch’s broad back until it disappeared.
