I had submitted my proposal to four investors before going to bed.

By morning, four of them had already agreed to meet with me.

I hate to admit it, but my surname opened doors faster for me. “Blackwood.”

Staring at the mirror in my room. I feel nervous and unsure what the result of the meeting will be. I applied cosmetic powder to smoothen the foundation on my face and did my lip gloss.

I liked the pair of pants I'm putting on with a blazer. It makes me more confident. I stared at my mom's picture on my shelf before walking out of the room. I still don't know what had happened back then but I blame my father for all that happened. Sometimes I wonder if his heart is still beating.”

The car was prepared , I had told the man in charge to get my car clean for tomorrow I was going to drive it myself today. I don't want to be followed by my dad, he might be an informant to him. I drove three kilometers away from my family estate.

I got to the building , it is a private building you pay to have meetings. I had a reservation that morning, the HR complained about it being booked but as soon as I mentioned my name.

“Blackwood” I'm so sorry there is a reservation. He said immediately. I will be meeting with four investors today. I took a deep breath and came out of my car with the aura of a “Blackwood” catching everyone's attention as I walked into the building.

The four investorsI submitted my proposal to are huge investors in Atlanta. My Raphael is the first person I will be meeting with. As he approached my table, I stood up to shook his hand

“Thanks for coming”

“It fine as long as it the blackwood, I'm all in”

I had gone through the proposal you sent , is this new company for the blackwood family it wasn't mentioned in the contract.

The company about to be brought to existence is not in the name of the blackwood family but in the name of a blackwood.

What do you mean? He asked

What I meant is ,I'm the one starting up this company. It is a goal I will work so hard to achieve.

“You won't regret investing in it, it's what I can tell you for a fact.” I added

“Miss Katherine Blackwood” He said

There are no red points that should stop me from investing but…

“But…” I caught it.

I will love to invest with the Blackwood family, he stood up to live.

Sorry, it is also a Blackwood company. You can count on me.You will get 40% of the company .

I apologize, Miss Katherine.This is my decision, He said and left.

All I could see was a black collar walking distance away from me.

I didn't know how to feel but I know I'm not negative.

“He just walked away from a billion-dollar opportunity” I said to myself.

I wasn't someone who will give up easily, I will be meeting the next person in ten minutes.

Mrs Victoria is the next huge investor I will be meeting. I have so much hope in her because she has been present when I win the contract for the “Blackwood Energy” she won't say No!

I have so much hope in her , she is not going to turn me down . I sighted Mrs Victoria as she worked up to my Table , I stood up to shake her hand.

Mrs Victoria! Thank you for honoring my proposal.

Miss Katherine , I love that I'm here to advise you on this. She said and smiled

“Advised”, I said quietly.

“She is here to invest and not advised” I thought in my mind.

“Miss Katherine” She proceeded

This is really a great business plan and I would like to give you some advice as an investor.

Oh ! I said.

My heart rhythm began to beat faster, not making it obvious.

I will advise you not to start a company. If you have a family company, you can invest your intelligence in “Blackwood Energy”.

Plus the losses and risk , you are too young to take that.

I tightened my fingers against each other and forced a smile.

I have thought of all possible losses , in the proposal I mentioned 40-30% possible outcome of loss which 60-70%still cover a detailed profit.

I also mentioned you will own 40% of the company.

Miss Katherine! Your Business proposal is of detailed and good structure but this is what I would do on this.

Mrs Victoria , you have seen me win a lot of contracts in my family company. This should make you trust me to invest in my company. We are also helping the citizens directly.

Why don't you consider my proposal ?

This is my take on this ,I'm sorry to decline the proposal. She said

My phone popped up a notification , It was the two last investors I'm going to meet .

One texted ,he wouldn't make it and was no longer able to invest, the other gave a reason he had invested in another company.

This isn't a coincidence! I thought in my mind, my heart began to beat faster that I could hear the echo in my ears.

Speechless on what to say after getting the two other texts from the investor looks like everything is falling apart.

As soon as she left my sight, I couldn't see her anymore.

I screamed so loud that I could hear my voice echoing loudly. I grabbed my bag and left the office angrily.

Why did they cancel on me?

Knowing fully well this is a right investment.

I accelerated the speed of my car , I couldn't wait to get home so I could ask him why he is meddling with my business.

On getting home, I headed straight to his office only for his PA to mention that my father has gone on a business trip and won't arrive until evening the next day.

My father had asked him to handle urgent issues at home. He said

With anger , I screamed leave me the hell alone.

I added upstairs to my room, I shut the door so hard behind me.I couldn't hold it in

anymore , Dropped my bag on the shelf and landed on the bed.

I’m not sure of what to do but I'm never taking that nonsense advice that woman said..she must be out of her mind to think I can't build my own company.

My lacrimal gland couldn't hold in my tears, so I started tearing up in my bed.

What will I do now?

I can't give up!

These are the words going through my mind until I heard…

“Kathy…” I don't need to remind myself who it is.

Emilia! I had picked that same day in the evening to hang out with her.

Oh , my God . I had forgotten , I'm not in a good mood to be anywhere right now.

Yes , you can . I said without leaving where I laid down on my bed.

What happened? She asked as she saw me lying on the bed.Rushing to me where I laid on my bed .

I had cleaned the tears on my face when I heard her voice but my red bulging eyeball can't be changed in seconds.

Why have you been crying? Even if you are going to deny it . She asked.

“Better tell me the truth , nothing but the truth Kathy..”

Are you pregnant ?

I tried to force a smile “Nooo” I said.

“Actually I have decided to stop working for my father and build my own company due to a reason I'm not ready to disclose now. I'm sorry.”

I'm proud of you girl but you are tell me this reason soon”

Sure..I continued.

I sent my proposal to four investors in Atlanta but they all rejected my proposal.

This makes me sad…I have to search for another investor.

Oh, starting your company is a good idea. “What if I speak to my brother for you ?”

One fun night isn't bad. I said to myself

I had one sexy gown I haven't worn, it was the perfect fit for this hang out.

I changed into it after taking my bath , did my makeup and put on my sexy heels matching the gold coloured purse I got for a million dollars.

Emilia is all dressed already , she had it in mind she isn't taking a No for an answer.

We stepped out looking so hot, the domestic staff stared at me, in disbelief.

Deep down , I'm so happy to have this time to myself.

We took shots of drinks , danced while enjoying the vibe at the party.

I took a song with Emilia by one of my best artists…everyone ended up clapping for us.

Getting tipsy already, I had to text my driver to come pick us up. Emilia insists we take another shot since I'm not driving home myself anymore.

I woke up with my head banging so hard…all I could remember was dancing with Emilia .

“My head hurts much”

I sat up and checked the time , it was 11:00am in the morning.

How come…oh my head.

Slowly, I remember my driver dropping Emilia at the place she lived after we both got drunk. I enjoyed the hang out aside from these headaches…

I washed my face with warm water, brushed my teeth, and took my bath.I sat down back on my bed still in my robe.

It is a free day for me.

On checking my phone , I had 3 message notifications on my phone.Thinking of who could have messaged me…that when I remember…

Emilia said she was going to speak to her brother for me and she also forwarded my proposal to him .

I opened the text , it was from Damian Emilia's brother.

He said;

“Hi Katherine”

“I got your proposal”

We can work together , set up a meeting this evening.
