I gently wrapped Nora in the blanket, making sure her clothes were in place before I held her close and leaped from the window. The cold night air was a shock, a swift jolt of clarity. I landed in the shadows of the banquet hall's side wall, my eyes scanning the chaos inside.
My heart seized at the sight.
