            What should I give for his birthday? It is his birthday today and I have been procrastinating on getting his birthday gift. He has everything he needed, and I can’t afford anything else that he might not have. Mei Ling saw me in dazed and suggested “Why don’t you just bake him your specialities?” Mei Ling was not a Grim Reaper but she could read my mind sometimes. “What? You mean the butter cake? It is so ordinary.” I replied feeling frustrated. “Well. At least you tried. I bet that he will like it.” Mei Ling urged.

            “Ding Dong” The doorbell rang. “I will get it.” Mei Ling told. “There is parcel for Ms. Spencer.” The deliveryman informed. Mei Ling signed the parcel and she closed the door. “Open it.” Mei Ling prompted me. I took over the parcel which is nicely wrapped in golden paper with GG imprinted on it. I opened the parcel carefully and saw a halted-neck bare-back golden gown with a pair of black stripped stilettos. The cards say “From love. Hope you like it.”

            “Wow! How nice of Adam.” Mei Ling said in thrilled “Too bad I can’t be there at the party.” Mei Ling said with a glum. Mei Ling need to visit her mum as she was just discharged from hospital. “It is ok. I will take some photos for you.” I told Mei Ling smiling. I have decided to bake Adam a cake. I took out the ingredients, knotted the dough, beaten the eggs and baked the butter cake for 40 minutes. My whole house seemed to be redolent with the aroma of butter cake. 

            I put on my make-up and dressed up with the golden gown Adam sent me. It fitted my body well and further enhanced my collarbone. It has a glowing effect on my skin. I blow hair dried and my wavy curls are nicely tugged behind my shoulders. I took the Land Cruiser Keys out from my dressing drawers. It would be the first time I drove this car. Adam wanted to send his chauffeur to fetch me, but I insisted to drive there by Land Cruiser.

            My heartbeat faster the moment I reached his mansion. I had a bad omen about this, but I have to put a brave front. I alighted from my car and walked towards the pathway. There were several security guards walking around the compound to check on suspicious individuals. There was a huge transparent canopy with chandelier hanging in the middle. An extravaganza live band performing at the front of the canopy, guests are enjoying their show. I looked closer and to my surprise, it was Tiga Lipa.  I was jumping up and down like a little girl when I saw her performance. She was performing Electricity and the crowd cheered out loud. Waiters and waitress in black tux walking around offering champagne to guests. Guests all dressed in designer clothes, mingled around but they stopped and stared at me the moment I stepped foot in the venue. I instantly felt that I am not from this world.

“Hey dear.” Derrek greeted me along with a hug. I returned the greetings. “You look stunning tonight. Let me know one day you broke up with Adam. I might stand a chance.” Derrek joked. “Oh… I hope it is not because you want to collect my soul.” I snorted. “You must know that you are the only human here.” Derrek said in intimidating tone. I stood there frozen. “Don’t worry. We will not let anything happen to you.” Derrek smirked as we strolled closer to the main hall. “What power will you inherit at the age of 21?” I asked Derrek. “For Adam, he could inherit significant power to stop the time.” Derrek replied impassively. Wow! I thought in my mind. “Yeah. It is a big thing for Grim Reaper as only the leader possesses this power.” Derrek replied the question in my mind.

I saw Ilona in the party among the crowd. “Hello dear!” I greeted her. “So nice to see you again!” Ilona hugged and pecked on my cheek. “How is your new life in the city?” I asked her. “Life is great. I have a new target now.” She told me glancing over Derrek. She had a thing for Derrek, it was great news for me that she has moved on. I saw Duncan and Andrew patrolling around the compound. I greeted them with a smile.

Derrek accompanied me to Adam. Adam looked so gorgeous with his hair comb back nicely, black tux and beige long-sleeved shirt. Adam’s eyes spark the moment he saw me in the golden gown. “I so wanna do you right now.” Adam whispered into my ears when he pecked at my cheek. I blushed upon hearing his words and my inside was twisting. I gave him the cake I baked and his eyes lighted up. He gulped down the entire cake without hesitation. “This is so tasty. You really bake this yourself?” I nodded my head beaming.

“Hey darling. This is….?” Our joyful moment was interrupted by a lady in her forties. She has a domineering aura, beautiful brunette curls and piercing bright blue eyes like Adam’s. She was nicely groomed, wearing a sparkling red gown with shining diamond bangle. Adam’s face quickly changed to glum. “Hi mum, this is Erica Spencer.” Adam introduced me and he continued “Erica, this is my mum, Catherine Smith.”. “Hi Mrs. Smith.” I greeted while extended my hand to give her a handshake, but she ignored me “Why is this human here?” Catherine asked Adam. I couldn’t believe my ears, cold air brushed across my torso and I stood there frozen. “Mum. This is my soul mate.” Adam replied. “What? Does she know who you are? She is a human.” Catherine asked in a domineering and deafening voice. There were complete silence and Adam pulled her away. They were talking at a quiet corner, both were looking at my direction and exchanging some loud words. They certainly were arguing about me. I walked towards them and told Catherine “I believe Adam has made his words clear. I couldn’t hear what you were saying but it certainly not a pleasant one.” I hold Adam’s hand and ran off together. “Security!! Get them back here!!” Catherine yelled. The security guards were chasing after us, but it was a moment of silence. Everyone stopped and they were in complete silence, they have been frozen in time. “ADAM!! How dare you stopped the time!!” Catherine shouted on top of her lungs. We ran off grinning from ear-to-ear. I started the Land Cruiser and we fled the scene.

We parked in front of Shangri-la hotel and we got down from car. The hotel lobby was huge with golden pillars, the carpet has flying dragons’ images and double void high ceiling, hotel restaurant was busy with diners. Adam went to the reception and requested the president suite.

We checked-in the president suite, the living room was huge with leather sofa seating in the middle and a huge painting of China’s emperor on the wall. The bedroom is situated upstairs, it has a super King bed and a walk-in closet with twin bathtub and sinks. Adam open the tap to let the hot water running in the bathtub, the faucet is gold-plated. Everything about this room is so luxurious. I asked Adam curiously.

“What will happen to me? What I have done?” I smiled

Adam smiled and said, “I couldn’t believe what a fighter you are and I am so proud of you.”  

“So, I am your soul mate?”

“Yup. Mate for life. I have known you for the longest time.”

“Don’t be hilarious. We met in the club remember?” I hissed at his remarks

Adam gazed into my eyes and said, “Are you sure we first met at the club?”

I gulped and answered “Of course!”

            Adam walked closer to me and hold me in his arms. “Although the gown is nice on you, but I prefer you wear your birthday suit.” Adam took off my clothes slowly while kissed me passionately. I could smell his hot scents burning from his skin, he needs me now. “Your lips are so luscious. I could kiss them all night.” Adam burning with desire now. “Do you want to see my other lips?” I teased him while I kneel to give him a blow job. He let out a soft moan. Adam went into the bathtub and pulled me in. Hot water in the bathtub make me more sensitive to his touch. He eased into me and let out a loud moan. “I couldn’t get enough of you.” He whispered and I couldn’t get enough of his rhythm.
