THE LYCAN'S QUEEN - Mated to Many

“What am I?” Elween said to herself. “A rejected potential wolf, a dejected young orphan, a waste of space,” Elween responded to her self-probe and this induced her feet to run towards the ocean like she was a deer – the same way a deer pants for the river – but she was not looking for the refreshment that the water has to offer; she was also not approaching the water to have a drink but she wanted death, she wanted to drown herself and die. “It is enough. Today I end it,” Elween said amidst her sobs and tears.  The cold breeze that was accustomed to the beach hit her and she was sure that it would be the last thing that she was going to feel before the water fills her breathing holes and obstruct her lungs. She just wanted death and she would not allow anything to hinder her. Elween reached the beach and felt the coldness that the catacomb wet sands offered her bare feet. The bleeding also stopped as the cut flesh froze and this was allowed to be the last good thing that she was going to feel. There was no stopping for Elween as she proceeded into the ocean and aimed for the centered steep part that allow her be swept quickly and taken to the bottom. “I hope there are fishes. If you are there, kindly make it fast,” Elween pleaded to her future devourers. The water rose to the level of her neck and still, Elween did not stop. Her head was filled with faces of people that she wanted to hurt. They were faces that she hated and wanted to see dead but she won’t be fulfilling that promise. There was no one in her life and on her mind that made Elween wanted to stay – one of the reasons that she was aiming death was because of the people around her – members of her pack. As Elween had wanted, she saw right before her. There was a golden fin, a huge one before her. It akin to the movement accustomed to sharks and Elween smiled. “It is going to be faster than I thought,” Elween said and laughed. It was strange to her that she could laugh in her predicament but all was so good. Death, as she wanted it. Elween closed her eyes, waiting to be swept away by the sudden attack of the vicious fish. The waves hurled towards her and this meant to her that the fish was close. Then, there was silence. Elween began to breath slowly and was filled with the thought that death was so peaceful as she had heard from most accounts. The silence became so steep that was able to hear the soft clasps of the water bodies. She could also hear distant croaks and howling. Then, she opened her eyes and slowly beset her eyes on an object of beauty. There was a young lad before her. Water dripped from his hair and body. He was shirtless and had a locket around his neck, one that suspended to the level of his bellybutton. Elween looked behind him to issue a warning about the shark attack but there was nothing. Then she looked into his eyes and saw that it was all white, just like his skin too. She stared and he stared back too, as though it was a mutual consent. “What are you?” Elween asked. She knew that she wasn’t asking amiss by saying what as the one before her was far from being natural. “I am a merman. My name is Molos,” the boy said and the stare continue. “You want death so much that fear is out of you. But there could be more,” Molos added. With a pause, brought about by the shocking jabs that the words threw to her, Elween asked, “You know me?” “Your wolf remains asleep in you. You are the lowest in your pack. You are an orphan. Made to be more but nothing,” Molos said. Elween slowly walked close to him and they stood before each other, slightly taken each other’s breadth. “How do you know so much?” Elween asked. “History revealed it. My brother fought alongside your mother. She was the alpha of her pack, Lixinni the lycan queen. She led her army against fate. They lost. Many died, including my brother too. He was the merman in the fated war. When she heard that the same fate will hunt you, she killed the wolf in you and buried the ambience. Are you supposed to awaken the wolf in you or find death?” Molos asked. Elween was agape. There suddenly was a lot to know and she was immediately interested in living. “How?” she asked. “That is the most complicated question to be answered,” Molos said and turned his back to walk away. The turn led to the first confirmed piece in all that Molos had been saying as his back was covered in golden scales. “Wait,” Elween screamed and he paused to turn. There, Elween was shocked to see that half of his eyes had been covered in scales. “I know what you suddenly want. But there is a lot attached to it. Once your wolf comes to live. A lot changes in nature. The same fated war comes up again, the enemy arises, knowing that a seed of the lycan king, your mother is alive. He will come for you, and all knows you will be dead with you,” Elomos said. “Tell me about my mother,” Elween said.
