We finally reach the mansion.
The moment I step out of the car, I see Eric waiting near the entrance. He straightens immediately and bows.
“Alpha.”
I nod at him briefly, then turn to Molly.
“You should go inside,” I tell her. “I’ll join you later.”
She narrows her eyes. “Where are you going?”
“I need to take care of something,” I reply. “Go in. You’ve had a long day.”
“Charles,” she starts.
I cut her off before she can argue. “No. You’re going in.”
My tone leaves no room for discussion.
I lean down, kiss her softly, then guide her toward the door. I watch until she disappears into the living room, only relaxing when I know she’s safe inside.
Then I turn back to Eric.
“He’s awake?” I say.
“Yes, Alpha,” Eric replies. “He’s back in the dungeon.”
