Axel’s POV.
Hearing Candy sobbing uncontrollably, saying she wants her daddy, brings me to my knees. Seeing her like this makes me want to rip my own heart from my chest and throw it into the fire.
I stand holding onto the door frame as I wobble forward, tears burning in my eyes. Jax looks lost because he knows we can’t give her who she wants. I move behind my man, who will one day be my lawful husband, as he holds onto Candy concentrating on easing her pain, and so I hold on to him.
“Shhh, We’re here, Candy, we’re here.” I say as I hold them both as Candy sobs, hiccups and can’t catch her breath.
Candy slowly stops crying and falls limp in our arms. Asleep, she has cried herself into exhaustion. I lean over Jax and kiss him before I kiss Candy.
