Chapter 14
I sat in my office at seven in the night. Why? Because when I'm stressed I need something to keep my mind occupied. Seeing Scar brought back so many emotions. To be honest, I missed her. I hate going home to Kelly, because I imagine coming home to Scar. Why can't she come out of my mind? I need to appreciate the little things in life. That being my wonderful girlfriend.... Well mildly wonderful. She has been really clingy these past weeks and its annoying.
I wake up extra early every morning and comes home late every night, just to avoid her. Sometimes I even forget that she works with me. I hate seeing her at work, so I stay at the firm most of the time.
"Miss Pearson!" I looked at the door and saw my new assistant Jennifer.
"Yes!"
"Your girlfriend is on line two." She smiled. I nod and sighed in annoyance.
I rubbed my temples before picking up the phone. "Hi there darlin'!" I grimaced.
"Hello Kelly. What seems to be the problem?"
"Problem you say! I don't know, maybe its because my girlfriend is not home at seven in the night!" She bellowed.
"Are you catching an attitude with me Kelly?"
"Sydney...," she sighed, "Why are you avoiding me? Are we having problems in our relationship?" The pitiful thing sound almost tearful.
I sighed, "no baby! I'm just stressed that's all. I'll be home by eight."
"Okay baby. I love you!"
"You too!"
No I don't love the woman. I merely like her. I'm with her because of lust. Yes lust! The woman is wild in bed. A total tigress.
I packed up my things and grabbed my keys and walked out my office. "Jenny, you're free to go!"
"Okay Miss Pearson!"
I nod my head and walked out of the firm. The area was slightly empty. Only sounds being heard is the click of my heels and the jingling of my keys. I approached my car and saw a man leaning casually against it.
"Excuse! That car you're leaning on is over your bank account so move away." I frowned.
"Feisty, I like it!" His voice was hoarse and his teeth was slightly crooked. I frowned at his appearance and realized he was holding a gun in his hand.
I smirked, such an ass. "Hand over the keys darling!"
"How about..... No!"
"Then I'll just pry it from you then!" He shouted and rushed forward. I got ready to defend myself but a loud crack was heard. I watched as the man fell to the floor, unconscious or even dead. I watched up and scowled.
"Always have to save the damsel in distress." She smirked.
"I was fully capable of defending myself." I scowled.
"Sure you were! Why are you even here this hour?" She frowned.
"I was at work!" I scowled.
"At night!" She frowned.
"Yes Scar!" I scowled and walked to my car. I opened the door and got in.
"A thank you would of been nice!" She shouted. I rolled my eyes but was internally smiling. She still cared.
I pushed my keys in the ignition but it refused to start. I frowned and tried again. And again, till I realized it won't work. I laughed sarcastically and banged my head on the steering wheel. A knock on the glass stopped me from murdering my car and my head.
"Need some help!" She smirked.
I got out the car and fold my arms across my chest. "Duhh! What you wanted me to do? Walk to my house." I yelled at her.
She rolled her eyes and opened my bonnet. She did whatever mechanic s**t and turned to me with a frown.
"Your transmission burst and I don't has the tools to fix it. I'll call a wrecker and I'll drop you home." She smiled.
"Great, just great!" I scowled.
She smirked and called the wrecking service. When she was finished she carried me to her car. She opened my car door and I smirked. Such a gentle lady!
"Why were you by my job?" I questioned after the car began to roll.
"I was actually driving and I saw you." She glanced at me. I watched her hand that was placed on the steering wheel. Her muscles rippled every time she turned the wheel. I realized she had a tattoo on her forearm.
"When did you get a tattoo?" I queried.
She pushed up her shirt sleeve and I read the words.
Emotions is the enemy!
"I got it after you left!" She said. I frowned and relaxed in the seat. She stopped the car and I frowned at the unfamiliar settings.
"Why are we here?" I asked. She simply got out the car and opened my car door.
"I'm hungry!" She grabbed my hands into hers and locked the door.
"Scar!" I warned. She glanced at me but continued walking. I slapped her shoulder and she frowned.
"What!?"
"I need to get home and I'm not hungry!"
My stomach decided to be a traitor and growled. I blushed and she chuckled. She pulled me inside of the restaurant and towards the desk.
"Table for two please!"
"Right this way sir!"
Sir! Sure Scar looks masculine but her voice is as soft as a cloud. Even her face structure is feminine.
We both got a booth to a more secluded area. As usual I got in, then Scar did. I never been to this restaurant but from the decor, I'm guessing Italian.
I read through the menu and glanced at Scar. She stared at me intensely. "What?"
"Nothing!" She smiled.
"Good night I'll be your waitress for the night. Are you ready to order?" I smiled at her and ordered. "I'll take a chicken fettuccine and a glass of Chardonnay wine."
Scar ordered steak with garlic sauce and garlic bread and a glass of wine.
"I missed you!"
I turned to Scar and smiled. I missed her too but I wasn't going to tell her that.
"You did?" She nods and sipped her wine.
"I did! But I tried not too." She shook her head and fold her hands across her chest. "You hurt me Sydney."
"I hurt you. You're the one who was sticking your tongue down your so called sister's throat." I hissed.
"If you allowed me to explain, you would of known what happened."
"It wouldn't make a difference." I frowned. She sighed and downed her wine.
The waitress came back with our food and we ate in silence. "Do you love her?"
I thought about it. Do I love Kelly? I don't think so. I like the s*x.
"I don't think so." I sighed.
"So why are you with her?" She asked with a serious expression.
"I like her company!"
"Ah!" She said.
"Ah?"
"Yes Ah! I understand."
"Okay Scar!" I sighed. "What's your real name?"
She smirked and shook her head. "Scar!" She beamed. I laughed and slapped her arm lightly.
"You're so violent!" She frowned.
I laughed and continued eating. Our night flew by and I didn't even realize it was already ten. Scar paid and she dropped me home.
We both sat in the car with a comfortable silence. "Thanks for the drive ad dinner!"
"Your welcome!" She smiled.
"I'll pick you up in the morning!" She stated. I creased my eyebrows in confusion.
"Your car isn't working Sydney! You won't get it back till late this week, so I'll pick you up." She smiled.
"Thanks!" I murmured.
"I'll see you tomorrow!" She whispered. I nod and got out the car. I walked up to the doors of the apartment and waved her good bye. I walked up to my apartment and walked inside. The lights were off and I frowned.
"Where were you?!"
Oh god lord.
I walked further into the living room and turned on the light. I placed my handbag on the coffee table and fold my arms across my chest.
"Where were you Sydney?" She shouted.
"Why are you shouting?" I asked slightly amused.
"Sydney, where were you?"
"I was mugged!" I shrugged and sat down.
"You were, what!" She yelled. I grimaced and nod.
"Are you hurt?" She asked while coming closer. I put my hands up, stopping her in her tracks.
"If you called, you would of known!" I said and walked into my room.
"Sydney, I'm sorry!" She called back. I glared at her and began stripping from my clothes.
"Sydney!" She cried. I turned to her and saw tears streaming down her face. I mentally sighed and walked to her.
"I'm okay Kelly!" I said while wiping her tears from her face.
She gripped onto my shirt and cried. I frowned. This was a Luis vitton shirt! I mentally chastised.
That night we both had pity s*x. I faked numerous orgasms and gave her the orgasm of her life. I felt guilty though. The one person, I did want to have s*x with wasn't there.
I woke up with little hands draped across my stomach. I pried her hands off of me and got ready for work. I dressed in a white, silk button down shirt and a black dress pants and my black jimmy choo's. I was currently seated in the kitchen, eating a Greek yogurt and caramel oats. My phone rang and an unknown number flashed on the screen.
"Hello!" I answered.
"Good morning Sydney. I'm outside!" She said. I smiled and told her I'll be right down.
"Who's that?" I turned around and faced Kelly. She had on my robe and a grizzly scowl.
"A friend!" I muttered and rushed out the house. I saw Scar leaning casually against her car. She drove a Benz today. She was dressed in a black and silver suit. She looked handsome.
"Good morning!" I smiled. She smiled back and opened the door for me. I sat in her car and she drove off.
"How about breakfast?" She asked.
"I ate already but thanks for offering." She smiled and nod. I arrived at work and thanked her for dropping me.
"I'll see you later!" I smiled.
"Of course."
I walked into my office and frowned. "Yes Maggie!"
"Why are you with Scar?" She shouted.
"She dropped me to work!" I sighed.
"You need to be careful around her Sydney. She is dangerous." She said pointedly.
"I know!"
"We have a busy week ahead of us. The plan for her arrest is in motion."
What did I get myself in?
