Can we get married
The bathroom door was pushed open and the man dragged Suluo inside. As his underground lover of three years, she knew all too well that he only saw her as a game, not as love. The man tossed and turned her for a long time, as the sky outside gradually brightened. Finally, he stopped and left the breathless Suluo on the bed. She lay on the pillow, staring blankly at the man as he dressed himself impeccably. At over thirty years old, he showed no signs of age, still healthy and strong.
As he turned to leave, Suluo couldn’t hold back any longer and spoke up: "Tang, let's end this." "Suluo, I don't like this kind of joke," he replied in a cold voice. Suluo chuckled softly: "I'm not joking. I'm getting older, and I want to get married and have a home." She felt her feet wavering as she walked slowly towards him, adjusting his tie as usual. Then she raised her eyebrows and looked at him, "Since Tang can't give me what I want, I can only find someone else."
The next day at the law firm, Suluo deliberately applied slightly thicker makeup to cover her swollen eyes and horrible dark circles. She wore a high-necked sweater to cover the bruised hickey around her neck. As she entered the office, she met the administrative supervisor, Qi Qing. Qi Qing was over thirty years old and the wife of one of the firm's partners, Wang Tao. With this kind of relationship, she was free to speak and had a bad temper. If she was unhappy, she would just insult people. The bottom-level lawyers and legal assistants were afraid of her, and Suluo was one of them.
Suluo's position at the law firm was somewhat awkward. In terms of seniority, she had obtained her practice license two years earlier and had become a full-fledged lawyer. However, for the past two years, she had still been doing legal assistant work. It sounded nice to be an assistant, but in reality, it was just a fancy term for doing odd jobs. But the firm had no shortage of capable lawyers. Besides "big shots" like Tang Shaoyong, there were other returnees and graduates from prestigious schools with masters' degrees all over. Suluo had nothing special, so she had to continue to tough it out.
When Qi Qing saw her, she first sneered, seeming to be displeased with Suluo's "heavy makeup." The "Office Management Regulations" of the firm explicitly stipulated that female employees should not apply heavy makeup. The violators would not only lose their bonuses but also be scolded by the administrative supervisor. "Suluo, I understand that you're getting old and anxious to find a partner, but you still have to listen to the firm's regulations!" Suluo couldn't argue and could only lower her head and accept the reprimand. Some colleagues who passed by expressed sympathy, but as soon as Qi Qing glared at them, they ran away faster than anyone else. "Yesterday, you still took a day off, which was approved by Tang himself. I'm confused… as a legal assistant, why do you always wander around Tang Shaoyong's busy schedule? You probably think he is handsome and rich and you want to throw yourself at him!" These words were as harsh as they could be, but Suluo didn't retort and just lay there with a lifeless expression. Qi Qing continued to scold her harshly for a long time before suddenly jerking and looking behind Suluo. "Oh, Tang is here!"
Tang Shaoyong saw Qi Qing scolding Su Luo to the point of disgrace, but when he approached, he didn't even say a word, he just nodded and greeted Qi Qing, and then went to his office without looking sideways. Qi Qing snorted from behind and said, "You see, people don't even look at you. Little girls like you, don't think that you can reach the sky in one step. A big man like Lawyer Tang is there to look up to..."
Because of being scolded early in the morning, Su Luo was not in a very high mood throughout the day. But she is in charge of all the chores in the institute. She was called to draft a document, the printer ran out of ink, the food delivery service came, and even someone who was thirsty and asked for a cup of coffee was all her business. Even a few lawyers who are younger than her are very easy to arouse her. Sometimes several lawyers got together, and when it came to Su Luo, everyone commented that she was a good girl, but she was too soft-tempered and easy to bully, she didn't even have a sense of presence in the firm, and she had to be punished in court. Judges and prosecutors cried in terror. The words were a joke, but Su Luo knew that she would never be a qualified lawyer. And for so many years, if she hadn't been chasing after such a person all the time, she didn't know if she could persist until now.
When I got off work, a few colleagues said they were going to a dinner party, and asked Su Luo if he would go. Su Luo shook her head, saying that she still had something to do at night. The variety show on TV had just ended, and there was a sound outside the door. Tang Shaoyong drank a lot of wine tonight, when Su Luo helped him in, his feet were a little sloppy, but he was still sober. Su Luo helped him onto the bed, and when he was about to get up, someone stopped him at the waist.
"Luoluo." Tang Shaoyong called her that, and Su Luo knew that he was really drunk. Tang Shaoyong narrowed his eyes and looked at her for a while, then nodded her brows with his fingertips: "Do you like me, that's all?" Su Luo looked at him quietly, then nodded. Tang Shaoyong suddenly changed his expression and pushed her away. This kind of treatment of Su Luo is no stranger to him. With Tang Shaoyong, no matter how much she confides her heart, she always gets such a cold response.
The next day was the weekend, Su Luo got up early and cleaned the house as usual. When cleaning Tang Shaoyong's study, she saw that the table was a little messy, so she went over to clean it up. There was a photo album on the table, and she didn't pay attention to it at first, until she saw the two people in the photo clearly, she was taken aback and suddenly took two steps back. Before she recovered from the shock, she heard a cold voice from the door: "What are you doing?"
