The Dark Rose

17 that's my age today and I'm terrified, the problem is I don't know why I'm so terrified I've been going to Riverton High for 3 years now and I'm just about to start my senior year, I'm popular, doing well in school, I have plenty of friends and my parents are still happily married, my elder brother, Damien is currently in collage on a football scholarship and is doing surprisingly well. My best friends Susan and Angel is doing well so why am I on edge, I recently joined the cheer squad ,although I'm gonna quit soon since its not really for me, don't get me wrong I'm not a pessimist, in fact I'm a real optimist, my brother used to tease me about it all the time but stopped when I was 12 and asked him why would you get mad at something knowing that a person has probably gone through alot on life and his only real reason is to make someone else feel just as bad as he feels everyday and how do u know if that person is just feeling insecure and don't really know any kindness and that u could bring in that kindness by just being nice, after that he actually started being more nice to people and people didn't know what was going on with him till I explained to his friends and they told me that I act too mature and that they are really surprised by that I love all the people in my life and can't imagine life without them my parents don't have alot of time to spend with us as my mom is a doctor and my dad a lawyer but they make enough time for us and that's what matters they will always come to our important things and I love them for that. We live in a huge house that clearly has too much things for a family of 4 but my parents say its just because they want to give us everything we can and can't imagine... " Rose get down here you are going to be late for school!" My mom yells from downstairs. "I'll be down soon!" I yell back " You better put that dairy down or I will come up there and do it for you !" She yelled back. I roll my eyes but obey and put my dairy in its self lock box Damien got me for my 14th birthday along with the dairy. As I roll out of bed I look out the terrace cloudy and the weather app on my phone says its going to rain later Just my luck I think to myself I walk to the closet and grab my white jacket to throw over my outfit of a blue torn jean with a red v-necked top and my hair up in a high ponytail with my white high tops and spring downstairs into the kitchen and grab a energy bar while kissing my mom on the cheek as I walk pass " Morning " I say smiling as I sit at the breakfast bar " You really need to eat before you go to school Rose " my mom reprimands me but I know she knows that I don't eat on the mornings so I reply " I know " while eating the bar, she rolls her eyes and smiles chuckling as my dad walks in " Good morning my two beautiful ladies " he says with the biggest grin on his face and I know that he has planned something " Morning hunny" Mom replies with a knowing smile on her face oh now I definitely know they planned something " Morning Daddy " I say while glancing at my watch and my eyes widen " Oh shoot! I'm gonna be late!" I yell jumping out of the stool my parents both laughing at me and I playfully glare at them " Bye love you !" I yell running toward the door and Dad yells back "Don't forget dinner tonight!" "I won't!" I yell while the door is closing behind me and I jog down the driveway to my Audi R8 and race to school ,without breaking the speed limit ..much, let's see what today brings I think to myself not at all prepared for what was going to happen on 9 February 2020
