Matt stood on the top of the Grand Veil Spire and looked at the city below. The sun was setting, painting the sky with soft orange and pink colors. From up here, everything looked peaceful. People walked in the streets, some with normal human steps, some with the soft glow of Kai power around them, and some with shadows that moved a little on their own because of twilight training. It had been three years since the big battle with the Eclipse Tyrant, and the world had changed a lot.
Matt was no longer the weak boy who got slapped by Kade in school. He was the Sovereign of the Eternal Night, the leader of the Twilight Harmony. His hair had silver lines in it now, and his eyes sometimes glowed soft red even in daylight. But inside, he still remembered the old fear and the old hunger.
