Matt woke up early the next morning inside the Grand Veil Spire. The soft light from the big twilight orb above the city came through the window and touched his face. He sat up slowly on his simple bed and looked around the quiet room. It was not a fancy king’s room. Just a normal place with a table, a few chairs, and the seven Codex pages floating gently in the air like old friends watching over him. He felt tired but good. The big trip to the northern ocean had been hard. His body still had some small bruises that were healing slowly. But inside his heart, he felt calm.
