FORBIDDEN LOVE: A campus love story.

I sat on my bed reading my textbook when the door flung open. I was roughly jolted from the world of words. It was Jasmine and her boyfriend Frex. They walked in chatting and laughing, his hands on her waist. They walked straight to her bed acting like they wasn't someone in the room. "Good afternoon Jasmine and Frex". I greeted as I hurriedly packed together my books to head for the library.I knew they needed their privacy so I had to leave them alone. I heard them laughing as I walked out of the room and I knew they were laughing at me; Jasmine has always seen me as a nerd since I became her roommate. Since I was opportuned to get a scholarship to such a prestigious university like Princeton, I could only stay in the room the school allocated to me and that's how I found myself in the same room with her. Asides her, Katie also stayed in the room but she was not always around. She was more of a "non-academic student" always vacating school till exams and which I later learned that she always spent time with her boyfriend. Jasmine was one of those popular, highly sophisticated girls on campus; Her father was a rich and highly politician and business tycoon so she could have everything she wants except for her staying off campus. Her father strongly objected to that because he knew how reckless she could be which was why I could have her as a roommate. At least that's what she told me. Whenever I told anyone she is my roommate they're just too surprised like it's really a big deal. "Ouch!!" I yelled in pain as I stumbled on a stone. I had been so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice the stone. "Hey, beautiful I hope you didn't get hurt?" I heard a voice from behind. I turned and there I was facing a tall, handsome, guy. I felt my heart miss a beat. "Ohh.... yeah... I.. I'm okay, thank you". I said walking away immediately. "Why did I stammer? Why did I just walk away like that?". I asked myself when I was far out of his sight. I got to the library but I couldn't read; all I could on the pages of my psychology textbook was his beautiful blue eyes, his raspberry pink lips and his perfectly pointed nose. "But you didn't look at him for up to fifteen second. Why is his face stuck up in your head? ". It was my inner human speaking to me. Just then I remembered I was just a Nigerian girl from a poor background privileged to get into Princeton university through a scholarship. I sighed and started reading till I saw a message pop up on my phone. "Hey ya, what's popping. I just want ya to know I watch ya". It was from an anonymous number. "Who could have sent this and why". My phone beeped again. " I get whatever I want and you are not an exception. I must get you!! " I laughed "what could be the meaning of all of these. You must get me....?? " The next I was about to leave for a class when I heard a knock on the door. " Come in". I said without thinking. "Hi". I raised my head up and saw it was Frex. I was surprised 'cause he has never come this early before. "Good morning Frex". I greeted. "Good morning Tricia". He said extending his hand for a handshake. Why did he offered a handshake? Am I his friend? Wasn't he the one laughing at me yesterday? Ohh my gosh. I was overthinking things. It's just a harmless handshake but I think that's my worse mistake. I stretched out my hands and our hands met.
