Where we started..
The trees are turning bright red, yellow, and orange. The wind is brisk on our faces as leaves fall from the trees above us. That's my friendly reminder that a new school year is near. I remember as a child always dreaming about the story my life would build. Here in this little town called Balrog there's about 35 students from Abel Middle School heading into the newly remodeled Balrog High. Last years seniors weren't to thrilled to know that the community waited until the destructive group of kids graduated. What they didn't realize is we aren't an angels, they just haven't seen who the 35 of us really are.
Hi I'm Maddie, my parents have raised my brother and I here in Balrog since I was a little girl, my brother was born here. My mom wanted to start over in a small town because educating children was what she admired most. Being able to do that in a smaller town meant for more in depth relationships with the students and the families. My dad didn't really love his job and found a few opportunities in Balrog. My brother Madden is 7 so that means he's stuck in my moms class this year. I find it so funny because the year I was supposed to have my mom for a teacher she ended up teaching 5th grade instead so I got out of ever having to deal with my mother being my teacher. My moms best friend Anna moved to Balrog about 4 years ago and her daughter Cattie and I instantly clicked. We go pretty much every where together. Every Sunday we have breakfast after our morning run together. My dad enforces athletics and my brother and I aren't really interested so we each picked one thing to do to satisfy dad.
