The meeting of the Dons

2170 Words
Harper gets up on stage as all the Dons are seated. Jayden, Jack, Jayda, Dante, Jennie and the rest of the senior members of the Casella family are all present. They leave it up to Harper to handle this meeting, as they want to see how she will take on the pissed-off Don Agosti and his friends. They know that the Agosti family contacted all the Dons who are friendly towards them, and they are sure they also reached out to the Morrelli family. Harper has a smirk on her face as she looks at Don Agosti, his son and daughter-in-law, who are looking grim. She can see they are pissed off as they look at Sienna sitting on the stage without any makeup and looking like she has a hangover. Sienna still reeks of alcohol from the previous night. She had been drinking a lot, did not shower, and was still wearing her clothes from the previous night. "I demand that you release my granddaughter! Donna Casella, you are humiliating her! You did not even let her take a shower or look decent for this meeting," Don Agosti says. He is furious and embarrassed. Harper looks at him with the same smirk on her face. She first copied the video from Jacob Smith's phone before deleting it from his phone. Then, she nods at Cole, and Cole plays the footage of Sienna bragging to the FBI agent against the white wall so that all the Dons can see what Sienna did. "You should take better care of your granddaughter and her big mouth. She is a snitch and almost destroyed your family and the Italian Mafia. She is a danger to the Italian Mafia, and I can not allow this behaviour under my watch. What Sienna did is a disgrace to your family, Don Agosti. Do you really demand that she be treated any other way when she threatens you and your family? What Sienna did was unforgivable. Luckily, I kept an eye on all the Dons last night to ensure we were all safe. My spies picked up Jacob Smith, who was hanging out with Sienna, and we stepped in before he could cause us harm in any way. As a result, he will also no longer be a threat to the Italian Mafia," Harper says. "I hope you can prove that he will no longer be a threat and that you did a clean job when you got rid of him," Dean says. He still does not believe that Harper can kill someone and wants proof. Harper smiles and nods to Cole again, who plays the video of Jacob Smith in his last few minutes on earth. Then she explained what they did and how they set up everything. Dean is impressed by how Harper thinks and acts, but he will not tell her about it. Harper can see the approval in the Dons' eyes as they all look at her. Some are openly smiling and look proud of their soon-to-be new leader. Don Agosti can not look anyone in the eyes as he lowers his head in shame. "So we are all here now, and I have to ask you what we should do about Sienna Agosti and her family. Don Agosti had not trained her at all. She is a disgrace to the Italian Mafia. Still, since the Agosti family is part of the Mafia, it is not up to me to decide what to do about this as you are all Dons, and your future was also in danger because of the actions of Sienna Agosti. So I will listen to your suggestions and decide what action to take. I also remind you that I do not believe in killing our own. I feel the Agosti family should give up their territory, and they can fall under the Morrelli family. The Morrelli family can take over Las Vegas since they are a big family and can handle the extra territory," Harper says. She looks at Dean, who is frowning. She took the wind out of his sail by suggesting more territory to him and his family. Dean looks at his grandfather, who is smiling at him. His grandfather knows that Harper just trumped Dean, who was set on trying to give Harper hell. Dean keeps his mouth shut and hopes that some of Don Agosti's friends will stand up for him. Dean can not stand up for the Agosti family as it will be a slap in the face to Harper. Old Don Agosti looks at Dean, knowing he can not expect any help from Dean. Dean looks at Harper. She is clever and again shows him that he underestimates her. She killed the FBI agent and did an excellent job of getting rid of all the evidence. Now, she is playing the Morrelli family against the Agosti family. Next, Dean looks at Sienna sitting on the stage, looking awful. He is glad he does not have to marry her as she is not his type. Sienna is not ugly without makeup, but is also not as beautiful as Harper Casella. The contrast between the two women is like day and night. Harper looks like a lady, and Sienna looks like a tramp. Maybe if Sienna washes her hair and puts on other clothing, she will look better, but she will never be Harper. "Well, played Harper Casella! You trump me every time, but one day you will overplay your hand," Dean thinks, but says nothing. "I agree, the Agosti family should give up their territory, and I think Don Morrelli and his family are capable of running Las Vegas," Don Bianco says he is running Orlando. Most of the Dons from Texas agree. But unfortunately, none of Agosti's friends speak up for him and his family, as they are all disappointed in Sienna for being a snitch. "I think we all agree that the Agosti Family is going nowhere, and they do not have a worthy heir. So they should give up everything and fall under the care of Don Morrelli," Don DeVille says. He is running Baltimore. The other Dons all agree, and Harper turns to Don Agosti. "The Dons have spoken. You will have to talk to Don Morrelli as he is your Don now. You are no longer Don, and your family lost their territory. So you can take your granddaughter. But be warned, if she ever talks about the Mafia again, she will not live," Harper says. "You will pay for this, Harper Casella! Hear my words! I have many loyal members, and I will not call Dean Morrelli my Don! You and he are lovers! I bet you are! You wanted to make sure your lover never married my Sienna! Well, you have nothing to worry about, Donna, as my Sienna will never play second fiddle to you!" Federico Agosti shouts. He is humiliated and angry. His so-called friend abandoned him. Federico knows he can not do anything to Harper, but he is angry and wants to hurt Harper and Dean! Dean was supposed to stand up for him, but he said nothing! Dean will never marry Sienna now, as she is useless to him. Dean is also not happy. Although the Agostis fall under him now, they are useless to him. It does not make his family any stronger. All it does is give him more responsibility. He knows Harper did it to keep him out of her way. Dean is furious as his plan to become stronger than the Casellas and have more votes is now down the drain. She has gained more confidence from the Dons as she got rid of the FBI agent and the only Don and his family that tried to make things difficult for her. Federico Agosti and his family are now useless to all the Dons as his daughter will not be a family leader, and the Agosti vote is now silenced. Uniting two families differs from having a family and its territory falling under you. Dean feels like refusing the territory, but Las Vegas is making a lot of money, and he has people that can run it for him. Dean lost an ally but gained territory. His children will have more territory one day, but he is still running only one family, not two, as he would have if he married Sienna. Sienna would have stayed the Donna of the Agosti family and voted with her husband. One of their children would have inherited the Agosti family, and the other the Morrelli family. The Agosti family and the Morrelli family's votes would have been his. However, it is all just a broken dream now. The Dons of Texas do not realize that they just lost a vote! They can all back him, but they need the extra family to challenge the Casella family for the leadership of the Italian Mafia in the states. Dean knows he does not have enough Dons to back him to challenge Harper, and he might have lost a few backers as well, as Harper proved competent to run the Italian Mafia the day Jayden Casella retires. "I want to make it very clear to everyone here that there is no relationship between Don Morrelli and me! I think he is the most competent to take over Las Vegas from the Agosti family, and that is all there is to it! So I am not going to talk about it again! Now, Don Morrelli, will you accept your new territory and make sure that the Agosti family does not do stupid things like that in the future?" Harper asks. Her eyes show no emotion as she looks at Dean. Dean only nods, as he does not trust himself to talk. He is still furious, and his grandfather laughs softly. "It is a shame that there is no relationship between the two of you, Donna Casella, as you will make a great couple," Don Bianco laughs. The rest agree, and they all look at Dean with hope. Should the Casellas and the Morrettis unite, no one will be able to bring the Italian Mafia to a fall. "What are you all looking at me for? You heard what Donna Casella said. We only just met. Donna Casella, I am honoured to serve you and will back you as the new leader of the Italian Mafia. You have proved to all of us you are capable of running the Italian Mafia," Dean says. He wants to let everyone know he is not interested in Harper. Dean will have to prove he is stronger and more capable than Harper Casella in the future. Dean does not know how he will do it, but he will have to get a lot of Dons on his side. Dean might have lost this battle, but he did not lose the war yet. Harper smiles, but he can see the triumph in her eyes. "Thank you, Don Morrelli. I am glad I have the support of the second largest family in the Italian Mafia," Harper says, emphasizing the second. Dean bites his words back as he knows Harper is mocking him and rubbing salt into his wound. Harper Casella knew that by taking the Agosti family out of the picture, she bought time for herself and her family to gain even more support. It makes Dean furious. He nods and sits next to his grandfather without any expression on his face. Again he hears his grandfather laugh softly, and it infuriates Dean evermore. Why does he let Harper Casella get under his skin? The meeting is over, and Sienna is in tears as her grandfather tells her he never wants to see her or her parents again. They cost him everything he had worked for his whole life. Sienna looks at Harper, and the hate in her eyes is apparent to everyone. Dean sees it, and he feels uncomfortable. Why doesn't he like someone looking at Harper like that? Why does he feel he has to protect her from the wrath of others? "Harper Casella is my leader, and my loyalty to the Italian Mafia must make me think I must protect Harper. The Casellas are good leaders and always lead by example. Her great-grandparents helped my family many times, and her grandparents are loyal friends of my grandfather. That is all. I do not have feelings for the new leader!" Dean thinks. As he and his grandfather drive to their hotel, Filippo laughs. "Harper Casella is a clever woman. Unfortunately, she did not only take out the FBI agent and the Agosti family, but she shot you in the foot! Hahaha. I wish you could have seen your face when she gave you Las Vegas. You could not go against her, and you could not help Agosti. Clever, really clever!" Filippo laughs. Dean glares at his grandfather, but he can say nothing, as what his grandfather said is all true.
