A meeting with grandpa Morrelli

2252 Words
Grandpa Morrelli and Dean arrive at their hotel room. Dean is still furious, as he knows his grandfather is right. Harper outsmarted all of them. She is clever, but Dean knows he will have to think of something to keep his position as the biggest threat to Harper Casella. He does not want her to become too relaxed. Dean wants to keep Harper on her toes and make sure she always looks over her shoulder to see if he is coming for her. Filippo loves to see his grandson admit that a woman outsmarted him. He also knows that Harper was mocking Dean and that Dean did not appreciate it at all. Carley asked her grandfather for old Don Morrelli's phone number. Dante looks at Carley and frowns. What does Carley want to do with the old Don's number? Dante hopes she wants to intervene and work with Filippo Morrelli to get Harper and Dean to marry. Dante knows the Morrelli family and has the highest respect for them. He will love it if Harper and Dean get married. It will ensure the Casella family's position in the Italian Mafia forever. But if Harper marries Dean, she will stay with Donna of the Casella family. The day Harper steps down, the oldest Casella grandchild will take her position. If the child is a Morrelli, they will hand the Casella family over to the second oldest grandchild. If the second oldest does not carry the Casella surname, they will take the Casella surname as their own. So there will always be a Casella in the Italian Mafia. They will always be the strongest. However, Harper has already decided if she is crazy enough to get married one day, she will hand the Casella family over to Cole. She does not want her family to lose their position in the Italian Mafia. Even if she never gets married, she will hand the Casella family over to Cole, the second oldest grandchild of Dante and Jennie Casella. Harper wants the Casella family to always stay at the head of the Italian Mafia. She loves her family and does not want them ever to disappear. Harper is very loyal to her family, and no one will ever come between her and her family. "Why do you want the old Don's number, Carley? Do you like Dean?" Dante asks. Carley shakes her head as she sees Thomas' face in front of her. She always had a thing for Thomas but could not tell her grandfather as everyone sees the FBI as the enemy of the Italian Mafia. It makes Carley sad as she thinks about her impossible love for Thomas Anderson. Carley knows she can not betray her family for a man, which makes her very sad. She will have to get over Thomas and forget about her love for him. "No grandfather, but I think he and Harper will make a powerful couple, and together, they will run the Italian Mafia smoothly. I have seen how the old Don looked at Harper and Dean and that it was his wish to see them together," Carley says with a smile. "You are way too romantic, child. Can you read minds? How would you know what the old Don is thinking?" Dante laughs. Carley has studied to become a vet. Since Willow died at an old age, she has missed the dog so much that she wanted to work and help all animals. Carley has a soft heart, and she is indeed a good person. "Grandpa, you better believe me, I know. Dean and Harper seem to like each other, but we all know Harper has had trust issues since Bruce ..." Carley starts and stays quiet as she knows she almost spilt Harper's secret. "Since Bruce did what?" Dante asks. He frowns. He thought Harper and Bruce broke up because they felt they were not meant for each other. "Grandpa, please do not ask me that. Can you please give me the old Don's number?" Carley says. "Not until you tell me what happened between Harper and Bruce," Dante says. He wants to know if someone hurt his grandchildren. "Okay, but you did not hear it from me. Bruce slept with Brooklyn, and Harper, Cole, Carol and I caught them red-handed. Harper does not trust anyone with her heart anymore. Bruce was her first love, and Brooklyn was her friend. Also, Dean is Brooklyn's stepbrother, and if we do not push Harper, she will never fall in love with Dean as she thinks he is like Brooklyn and will betray her. Harper says that they were raised by the same people and are fish from the same pond," Carley explains everything in one breath. Dante is angry. "Why didn't anyone tell me about Bruce's and Brooklyn's betrayal? I would have taken care of them," Dante says. Carley laughs. "That is why we never told you or our parents. But, Grandpa, it is Harper's revenge, and we need her to take care of it her own way, or she will never get over the betrayal of her best friend and her first love," Carley says. "You are right. I know why you want Harper to be with Dean! It is to help her get over the betrayal of Bruce and Brooklyn and get revenge simultaneously," Dante laughs. "Yeah, well. I found out that Brooklyn and Bruce are not together anymore as Bruce wants Harper back, but I think he only wants to use her to become wealthy, and Brooklyn is in love with her stepbrother. So it would be perfect revenge," Carley says. Dante smiles as he knows that Carley pretends to be a little light-hearted butterfly, but deep down, he thinks she is the evilest of all his grandchildren. However, he likes her way of thinking and knows Carley has been behind many of the triplets' and Harper's plans since they were children. "You are a little genius, baby girl, and grandpa is so proud of you," Dante says. He smiles. Dante knows Harper will have to get her own revenge so she can become whole again. "Thank you, grandpa, but you can not tell anyone," Carley says. She knows her grandmother, mother and aunts. They will go to Bruce and Brooklyn and give them a piece of their minds. "You have my word. Besides, I know the women of this family, and they will not leave it at that," Dante says with a smile. "Thank you, grandpa. I knew I could count on you. So will you give me the number of old Don Morrelli?" Carley asks. "Sure," Dante says, and Dante sends the number to Carley's phone. Carley smiles happily as she walks out to call the old Don Morrelli. Filippo is sitting in his room when his phone rings. He answers and is surprised when he hears who is calling. After talking for a while on his phone, Filippo smiles and orders his driver to bring his car to the front of the hotel. Filippo is going out for the night and is happy that Dean went to play poker with some of the other Dons. He is not in the mood to explain to his grandson where he is going. He does not want to lie to Dean, as Dean can tell when he is lying. His driver does not ask questions and promises the old Don that he will not tell Dean where he is going and who he is meeting. The old Don tells the driver what he is planning, and the diver smiles. The men of the Morrelli family will love it if their Don gets married to Donna Harper. He hopes the old Don's plan will work, and he trusts that Carley will help think of a plan to get Don Dean and Donna Harper together. They soon reach the little Italian restaurant where Carley is waiting for the old Don. As Filippo walks in, he smiles at Carley, who is waiting for him at a table in one of the dark corners of the restaurant. They do not want anyone from the Italian Mafia to see them together, as Dean and Harper may get suspicious if they learn that Filippo and Carley had a private meeting. "Hello, Carley. I am glad to meet you at last," Filippo says. "Don Morrelli, the pleasure is all mine," Carley says. "Call me uncle Filippo. We are going to be family one of these days," Filippo says. "I really do hope we will be family. I want Harper to have true love in her life and realize that Bruce was not the one for her," Carley says. She tells Filippo everything he needs to know about Harper and Bruce. She tells him about Harper's trust issues and that Brooklyn was the one that Bruce cheated on Harper with. "Oh no. Brooklyn is Dean's stepsister, and I bet Harper is not too crazy about Dean because of that fact," Filippo says. "You have no idea. Harper says Dean and Brooklyn are fish from the same pond as the same people raised them," Carley says. "It is not entirely true. Dean came to his grandmother and me every holiday. He does not even like his mother, as she spends more time with Brooklyn than with her son. Dean can not stand Brooklyn and thinks she is like her mother. Dean also has trust issues, as he blames his mother for getting married after his father died. He says no woman is faithful to the man she claims to love. She will wait until he dies and then marries the first available man. I know it is unfair to Dean's mother, who waited five years before getting married again. However, Dean feels she should never get married again," Filippo says. "So we have our work cut out for us. Having one person with trust issues is difficult enough, but two of them and we want to get them to fall in love. I think we are going to have a war on our hands, uncle Filippo," Carley says with a sigh. "We will think of something, little Carley. Two heads are better than one. We have to be careful, though. Those two are not on good terms and might want to take each other out. But I am sure they will not, as I think they are fighting not only each other but also their hearts," Filippo says. "I also think they fell in love the first time they saw each other. They could not take their eyes off each other and tried to hide them behind smirks and sarcastic smiles. However, I could see that they liked each other. I know my cousin, and I can see she is having fun trying to block Dean at everything he tries. Why do you think she did not want him to marry Sienna? It is not only because she was protecting her family. She did not want to see Dean married to Sienna. I also think Harper wanted Dean to see Sienna at her worst, which is why she did not want Sienna to shower or put makeup on," Carley laughs. "I think you are right. I know Dean did not like seeing Sienna glaring at Harper with all that hate in her eyes. I could see him fighting himself not to go and protect Harper. It is not because Harper is the head of the Italian Mafia, my dear. It is because Dean likes Harper more than he will admit," Filippo says. The two of them laugh as they find it funny that two people can be so hard-headed and believe that they do not trust each other while they are obviously in love. It is love at first sight, and both Filippo and Carley believe it. "We have to do something to get them together, uncle Filippo, before one of them does something stupid and marries the wrong person. I will never forgive myself if that happens," Carley says. She looks worried. "Do not worry, child. Together we will figure something out," Filippo says. He is thinking of a plan. Filippo smiles as he looks at Carley. He thought of something. "I can see, uncle, is thinking of something. Please do tell," Carley says. "Well, I have this cabin in the mountains. I would fly out there every winter to spend a week alone with only my wife. No one can get to us, and we can not leave before the week is over. The only way off the mountain is by helicopter. What if we send the two up there under false pretensions of cause and they do not know the other one is there," Filippo says. He is excited, and in his excitement, he sounds a little confused, but Carley gets what he wants to say. "What if they kill each other before we can fetch them again, and how do we get them up there without their guards?" Carley asks. "We will work out something, child, and maybe you can get your grandfather to help us. Dean's men will help us as they want to see him married to Harper," Filippo says. "My grandfather will help. He likes Dean, and he respects your family. I think he wants the two to get married," Carley says. They talk for a long time, planning and dreaming about the day they can get Dean and Harper together in a lonely cabin on a mountain.
