The Chance

Two Days later, Michela was still puzzled about the whole thing and went to with so many questions in her head. Dave had been ignoring her since the day of the incident and acting like nothing had happened and this made Michela really mad. Who the hell did he think he was making drastic demands in her life? He had only known her for 5 days and was already all up in her life telling her to make decisions. Michela decided she was going to talk to Dave after their class and practiced what she would tell him in her head. After class, Michela walked up to Dave while he was talking to one of his friends and grabbed him by the shoulder. “may I please have a word”? she whispered. “yeah sure!”, Dave replied while saying goodbye to his friend. “have you made up your mind so soon?” he asked “wow! You really full of yourself, aren’t you?” she answered. “Listen here Dave, no one comes around into my life and starts making demands, I have my own rules and ways of running things and knowing you don’t know anything about me puts me in no position to give you a chance to be my boyfriend.” “well for starters, I know your name is Michela Anderson, you’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever known, you are a perfectionist who likes to me lists of everything she does and you have the most amazing smile in the universe. I just thought that would be good enough for you to give me a chance?” Dave said softly. “the answer is no! I won’t give you a chance because you have to earn it, you don’t walk into the room and try to kiss a girl you just met a few days ago and start proposing things after that, so from now on please back off and leave me alone”, Michela yelled. Hoping he would keep trying to get her, Michela walked away knowing that despite saying that she really liked Dave and wanted him to come after her. Michela got to the smiling and thinking about all the sweet things Dave had just said about her and sat on her bed patiently waiting for Dave’s knock to come plead for her. She sat for hours and hours and just as she was about to give up, someone knocked on the door. Michela sprang up in excitement, fixed her hair, put on her lip gloss and opened the door. There he was standing there, with another girl in his hand. “Hey Michela”, he said with a smile, “Was just passing by and thought I should tell you that we’re cool!” “oh!” Michela said as her attitude face disappeared, “Alright Dave, Great!” “Cool! Well we’ll get going now”, Dave said. Michela shut the door behind her and couldn’t believe Dave had just given up that easily, was he really into her or was he just playing her? She was confused, jealous and also heart broken that the guy she had just began to like had just showed up with another girl at her door. She was so devastated that she decided to go to bed. The next morning, Michela woke up with a bad headache and failed to get out of bed. Luckily it was a Wednesday and her first class was at 1PM so she could rest her head for a while. She woke up later in the afternoon and went to class dressed in a hoody and get some tight blue jeans, and when she got there Dave was sitting with a different girl from the one, he went to Michela’s room with the previous night. Michela walked into the theater and sat opposite the two who were giggling flirtatiously. Michela sat there with her head throbbing in pain and the more she thought or looked at Dave the more her head hurt. The lecturer walked in just in time to stop Dave and the girl from making Michela’s head explode in pain and began the lecture. As the lecturer taught Michela’s hearing become more and more faint and her head hurt more than ever and so she began to scream in pain. Dave stood up and rushed to Michela’s Aid asking her what was going on, but she kept screaming and screaming in pain and as Dave and everyone else in the theater panicked to figure out what was wrong with her Michela passed out in his arms. Everyone in the theater panicked as Michela was lifted by the paramedics and put into an ambulance outside. “I’m coming with you”, Dave said to the paramedics. “Sir, we don’t advice anyone into the ambulance so you’re going to have to follow us to the hospital in your own car”, the paramedics responded. “Don’t worry Chela, I’ll be right behind you”. Dave whispered holding Michela’s hand.
