Sarah POV
A week had passed and I looked forward to going to school everyday which was odd for me. Well now it was different Josh was there and I liked him so much, he was sweet and always talked to me and gave me looks that sent chills up my spine. So I get me and Caleb ready for school and go on with my normal routine walking to the bus stop and sitting next to Mary Anne. This day though I decided to tell her about Josh and ask her for advice. I tell Mary Anne "hey so I met a guy at school he's only been there about a week and I like him a lot" Mary Anne Responds "what? why didn't you tell me sooner? I replied "well I didn't know for sure what I was feeling until recently" Mary Anne says "no wonder you have been a bit happier in the mornings, normally you are always dreading going to school and seem tired" I tell her "well I am excited to see him, but i'm a 16 year old single mother, he wont want to be with someone like that" Mary Anne Says frustrated "Stop thinking like that your beautiful, a great mother and a sweet person, any man would be lucky to have you." "Thank you Mary Anne" I said hesitantly, it was like I didn't believe what she said, although it was sweet. We arrived at my school me getting Caleb and saying goodbye to Mary Anne. I get off the bus and suddenly right in front of me was Josh. I was a bit startled, I didn't expect him to be right in front of the bus stop. He tells me " Hey Sarah, can I walk with you and Caleb to the daycare class?"
I was shocked and happy at the same time. I tell him "sure" with a confused tone in my voice. So we walked to the daycare class and he nervously says " can I ask you something?" "of course" I replied. Thinking to myself what is going on? first walking me to the daycare class and wanting to ask me something. He says "would you maybe want to go out with me sometime?, "I'm not sure what your situation is or if you are with someone, so if you say no i'll understand. My heart skipped a beat and I got butterflies in my stomach. I replied, "i'm not with anyone, i'm a 16 year old single mother and yes I would love to go out with you sometime" I said smiling. Josh looked at me with a huge smile on his face. He then says "are you free tonight or have anyone to babysit Caleb?" I said " yes i'm free and my mom can watch Caleb, she is a great help and loves Caleb" He said " Great what time works for you? I will pick you up. " Hmm" I said trying to think of a good time. "how about 6?" He says " perfect" I get to the daycare class and told him I would be right out. " i'll be here waiting" He says. I go inside drop off Caleb and headed back out the door to talk to Josh some more until we started 1 st period. The best part about 1st period was him and him always sitting next to me. We go into our first period class and sit next to each other like we have been for the past week. We listen to the lesson of the day and I'm trying to pay attention, but I feel eyes looking at me. So I look over to my left and I catch Josh staring at me. He turned away really quick blushing a bit. class was over and it was time for a break and then as I walked out of the classroom. I feel a hand touching my arm grabbing me. I turned around and it was Josh. I was shocked, then Josh pulled me into him and said " i'm crazy about you I cant help it" I looked at him and said " where is this coming from?" "why are you telling me this right now?" He replied " I don't know why I was just thinking about you during class" " okay" I said nervously. I was confused and flattered at the same time. I was excited at the same time. I headed towards my next class with Josh we only had 1st period together but we walked with me anyway.
Then I asked him as we approached my next class. "I like you a lot too, I just haven't had the guts to say it, I didn't think you would like me because I had a kid". He starred at me with a surprised look on his face and said "why would you think that? " I responded and said " who wants to be with a single mother at our age?" He looks at me with sympathy in his eyes. He grabbed my hand and said "Sarah you are beautiful and a great person, no matter what you circumstances are I would love to be a part of all of it" I felt giddy inside. I had to go to class and told Josh " i'm sorry can we talk about this when you pick me up at 6? " He said " that's fine, sorry I brought this up and made things awkward" I responded " its okay Josh, but I Have to go to class now. I went in the classroom and I was so confused and I couldn't stop thinking about what he said. I was trying to pay attention to the teacher and it was so hard to concentrate. I was like this through out the day and once school was over I went to get Caleb and he seemed happy to see him. I know I was happy to see him. I loved him so much. I walked to the front of the school with Caleb and waited for the bus to take me home. Then suddenly someones hand touched my shoulder and I heard a voice saying " Sarah can I give you guys a ride home?" I turned to look and it was Josh. I said "um sure" We walked to his truck and I put Caleb in the truck and buckled his car seat in and I sat next to Josh. He took us home and told me " hey beautiful, i will see you at 6" I looked at him with a smile on my face and said I can't wait. I walked in my house with Caleb and took a deep breath and sighed. I couldn't believe today actually happened.
