12. Connecting

1112 Words
I get out of the tunnel along with my father and Samoa. They took off the blindfold and gestures for me to sit down. I did as I was told, curious about what's going to happen. Samoa walked out and I hear him spoke. "Today's session if choosing your weapon is done, as I have some important thing to attend! I shall see you all tomorrow!" Before anyone could object, he closed the big doors and comes my way. "Now Invicta, where is it?" "Where's what?" "The Dark Stone of course! At least you don't hide anything else that important." "Oh, the Dark Stone! It is safe, no worries!" I say trying to figure out what he wants. "Well...can you bring it? You will need to connect the crystal to it, and I will like to see what's going to happen." "Are you always that curious? Or is it just because you want to see its power?" "Don't be disrespectful, child! I'm still your Elder!" "Yeah! The one who hides our history from us. Why did you do it?" "Invicta!" My father spoke this time. "What father? I just want to know! How can I trust him otherwise?" I turn back at Samoa, who looks to decide if to tell me or not. "If you answer my question, I'll bring the Dark Stone!" His eyes narrowed and his lips pressed together in a thin line. "I did hide it indeed! Even from the other Elders! I did it to protect our people." "I don't understand!" I said. He turned his back to me and continue. ". I wanted for us to live in peace like we used to do before the revolt. I hoped that if no one else will know, it will disappear completely. But I was wrong. It seems like the past always catch up on you. Molox proved to be smarter than I thought." "But you didn't have the right to do that!" "Invicta! That's enough! Please forgive my daughter, Samoa. Sometimes she spoke without thinking." "Don't need to worry, Belatrox! She has the right to ask! Now let's finish with your connection for once! There are still many things I need to take care of. Hopefully, Danero will be fully recovered soon. Two Elders are better than one." He said chuckling. 'Ok, maybe I was wrong about him.' "Ok. I go bring it! But what if anyone sees it?" "They will eventually have to. Besides, is your weapon! You own it! No one has the right to object!" I nod. He was right. It was mine, my weapon. I leave the building and with a strong push I get up in the sky, heading to my house. As I step in I noticed that Calista wasn't there. Without paying attention to other things I went to my room. I have been hiding the black spear there, in the secret small department from my large mirror. Grabbing the brow leather warp I head back to the Sacred Chamber. "Ah, there she comes!" Samoa said clapping his hands. "Come! Let us take a close look at it!" I walk to them, putting the spear on the table. As soon as I take the cover off, the red crystal, that was also on the table, starts glowing again. "What now?" I ask not sure about what to do next. "You need to put them together. Place them next to each other and watch the magic." I did ad he said but nothing happens. All the three of us waiting in silence for few moments, before my father spoke. "Maybe you should place them the other way around?" "No! I don't think is that!" Samoa said. But before any of us could say anything else, the two items start floating, spinning in a circular motion. Then I felt it! The connection it was calling for me. When the crystal touched the tip of the spear my hand moved on its own, grabbing the black handle. I could see the two meltings together while red and black water-like was going up my arms. My body was now floating, and I noticed how all my senses evolve. We were connected now! "Extraordinary! Amazing! I never thought I will live long enough to witness this!" The grin on Samoa's face was the most honest I ever saw. "I'm so proud of you, Invicta! I always knew that you are a strong one. But this...this is impressive!" My father said. I turned my spear upside down and my body follows the direction of the tip. "This is so cool!" I shout when my feet touch the floor. "Yes! Yes, it is! But now you need to start your training! I need you to go as soon as possible, as I'm not sure how much time we have. If the Molox will attack us again, I'm afraid that our population will drastically be reduced. We need to save our people." "I promise you that I will do my best!" "Please, Samoa, allow my daughter and me to take this evening off. We need to celebrate this important event. Besides, she will be soon gone for who knows how long." "Of course, of course! You may spend it together! I need to take care of something right now. But I will check on you tomorrow, Invicta! Just to be sure you are ready enough!" I give him a small smile and nod. 'Maybe he is not that bad after all." "Come on! Let's go home! Your sister might be worried about us!" "I don't know about that! She wasn't home when I went for my spear. Maybe she wanted to spend some quality time with her crush!" I said to my father wiggling my eyebrows. He looked at me with an amused face and we both start laughing. When we get close to our home I noticed that the lights were off. "Do you think she's sleeping? It's not that late, is it?" I ask my father. "Why she will sleep with the door wide open?" Worries took over me thinking about the worst scenarios. I step inside the house and turn on the lights. "Surprise!!!" I jump back at the loud pitched voice and look to see Calista and Zariel holding a small cake. Behind them, the small dining table was full of food and drinks. I turned around in a questioning manner when I heard my father laughing. "You did know, don't you?" "Well... Is just once that my young daughter gets her weapon." He said scratching the back of his head. "Whoa! Your weapon is so cool! But why it is glowing like that?" "What?!"
