Chapter 11

656 Words
When morning comes we pack up and start moving, according to commander lucien, it won't be long before they get to the camp. He tells lucilda tales of the camp, the men over there and how most of them might want to challenge her authority, he tells her to toughen up and not let anyone step on her toes, but then he assures her that even if the guys are jerks to her, they'll still respect her crown and will be there at her time need. Lucilda tells him that she'll be ready for anything, no matter what happens and that she's going to try her best to lead the men justly. They arrive at the vampire camp and the reception is exactly as lucilda expected, the men don't even regard her much, they mostly just stare at her as she passes by. They show her to her tent in the camp, they had originally thought it would be their king coming so they made the tent a little bit bigger than what she'd have wanted on a usual day but she didn't want to complain cause she didn't want more eyes being raised at her or them feeling like she was over demanding for things so she left it that way. She was settling her things in the tent when she heard a commotion from outside, she picked her sword and ran out thinking they were under attack, she got out and met a very shocking sight, 4 lycans were chained and forced to kneel in the middle of the camp. they were already shifted and their beasts looked terrifying, she knew what they looked like from the books she used to read in the royal library back at home so she kinda knew what to expect, however she didn't expect to see how terrifying they looked, they were so tall in their beast form that she couldn't help but wonder if that was their actual height. she was a little bit in awe but then the way they were growling made her rescind her decision to get too near to examine them. once the other vampires noticed that she was in their presence, they moved out of her way creating a clear path for her to access the scene properly. She saw commander Lucien already at the scene baring his fangs out to the lycans and they were growling back at him. she moved forward and once lucien noticed her he moved aside. "What's going on here" lucilda asked. "while I was away to the kingdom, our men managed to infiltrate the lycan camp and capture a few of their warriors". Lucien seems happy at that and boasts about the warriors prowess. "when was that exactly". she asks. "That was about 3 days ago your highness". a top warrior answers "And has there been any movement from the enemy camp since then?". she asks. " Ha...those dogs are all worthless just like these ones, they dare not not come at us, he rants. "something's not right here" "The lycans have been overly active for quite a while now and all of a sudden they all quiet down, there must be something we're not getting here". she asks aloud. "why worry yourself princess, go in and continue putting your things in place, I'll bring in your dinner soon or would you like to eat outside here?". Lucien asks. "No maybe another night, I'm really exhausted for now and I still have alot doing". she tells the commander. "oh okay then, you can head in now, I'll handle things from here on" he then starts barking out orders for the men to drag the lycans back to their holding area. Lucilda makes her way back to her tent and still worries about the situation on ground. something doesn't feel alright, she can feel it and she knows it's going to come back to bite them hard
