Chapter 12

Morning came and lucilda couldn't be more happier. She had a lot of things to get down to, many things were left unattended to during the brief trip commander Lucien took back to the kingdom and now things were piling up. she had to sort things out and with this new development about the warriors infiltrating the lycan camp she knew it was only a matter of time before trouble came knocking and she prayed they'll be better equiped then to handle it. She knew there was no way the lycans were going to let this go, even though she hadn't met their king yet or been in any part of their ongoing war prior to her coming here, she felt like she owed it to her father and all the people who were looking up to her to be prepared for the inevitable. something tells her it was only a matter of time before they came calling. She made her way to the commander's tent which also served as a private place for them to discuss battle strategies. She met with the guards at the entrance and they moved to the side giving her way to enter. upon entering inside she met the commander and some high ranking warriors already seated. she took her seat at the head of the table and allowed the commander continue with his briefing. "Our scouts report no movement for now from the lycans but we still won't relax our patrols neither will we take a break on our training schedule, we will continue to try our best to prepare our men for any eventualities" "What about the prisoners, aren't they a risk?". someone asks. " yes, I don't think it's proper to still keep them alive, I feel like they can attack or do something that'll be hazardous to us later". " Princess what do you think?". All eyes turn to me. " well if it's up to me then I'd say you already made a mistake by infiltrating the lycan camp, we already know how they are, we know how territorial they are and also the kind of bond they have, they won't let this go, they'll come at us tough and without mercy and when that happens I pray you have the same confidence you have today to face them". "We already have a lot on our plate I don't know why you guys decided to add this". "princess with all due respect i don't think you understand how wars work, we can do anything as long as we'll be able to achieve our goal, we didn't kidnap innocents, those lycans knew what they were getting into when they signed up for war.. it's either kill or be killed in war there's no two way about it?". "I know that but still I wish you'd consider things for a moment before reacting, the last thing we need is a well calculated invasion from the lycans at this moment, we are greatly outnumbered, we are just barely surviving to outlive this war, I'd appreciate it if you think next time before acting" "forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn princess, but I don't think you know enough of wars to know what works or doesn't work, we have been running this show and that's how it will continue to be and there's nothing that you can do about it, you might have the power but this our decision to take". The warrior retorted. The room became quiet and after sometime, commander Lucien had to interfere in it. "well if no one has anything to say anymore, I guess this meeting is over". he said getting up from his seat. lucilda Didn't even spare a second anymore in the room, she already understood that they don't like her and they also don't respect her and no matter what happens they're always going to want to shut her up. Seems like she had some work to do.
