lucilda was livid, she couldn't believe she was put off like a nobody back there, they didn't even care to listen to anything she had to say. Even though she had already been warned that they'd have no regards for her at all, still it hurt to be treated this way. She knew that if she let them know how much this affected her then they'll keep on pushing her buttons. they might be older then her and more experienced still that didn't give them the right to say or do as they pleased in regards to her. She was their leader by Law and she was going to show them a taste of what she is made of . loud footsteps outside her tent drew her attention to her surroundings. She stopped what she was doing to confirm if the person was just passing by or was looking for an audience with her. " Your highness, a messenger arrived from the kingdom and he came bearing a letter from the king, your father to you". hearing about her father made her rush out quickly in joy. She met the camp messenger in front of the tent standing with a piece of paper bearing the kingdom's seal in his hands. The manner in which she rushed out startled both the messenger and the few warriors who were around to witness the exchange, they all seemed surprised at how happy she looked. Lucilda didn't give any thoughts to what they might think, she collected the letter from the messenger, she asked him for his name and he replied with "Micah", she asked if the letter just came, and he said yes, he said the messenger that brought the letter wanted to know if there was a return letter for the king that he'll be delivering before he takes his leave. lucilda said yes and that she'll be ready with it in a few minutes. On hearing that Micah adjusted his stance in way that showed he was waiting, lucilda had to ask why he was still waiting and he told her he wanted to help her give the letter to the messenger back, that earned a small laugh from lucilda and she told him to please not bother to do that as she would do that herself, he tried insisting but she would have none of it, she wanted to do it herself so she ended up ordering him to go and rest since she's sure he's been busy since he woke up. Before he left, she thanked him for taking the stress of delivering it to her personally before turning and making her way back inside. The messenger stood outside for a few more seconds trying to understand the lady who just left his presence, he had heard a lot of things about lucilda, and due to the fact that he's never been in contact with her one on one prior to that day made him think all what he heard was true. He heard she was pompous, rude, heartless and filled with pride, they said because she knew a few sword tricks she suddenly felt she was a warrior. He heard the men curse her beauty which drew them to her like bees to honey. They felt the good looks she was blessed with was the source of her arrogance but then with what he just saw in the few minutes he had in her presence he could say one thing for sure princess lucilda was not anything related to what he had heard for sure. The way she spoke, the manner she carried herself in his presence, the joy in her eyes and the smile on her lips could never be from the lady the men had so cruelly described. He could now stand in front of anyone and defend her, princess lucilda was not only beautiful, she was kind and highly intelligent, he hoped their paths would cross someday again where he could be of great service to her and where he could prove his loyalty to her. From now on he had nothing but the utmost respect for his princess. Lucilda opened the letter from her father and she was overcome with emotions. "Dearest lucilda, i really hope you're doing okay, how are things going over there, in as much as I wasn't happy with your decision to go to war lucilda, I can't help but feel proud that you're doing something good for your people, I'm so proud of you lucilda, I'm much better than I was before you left, and once I'm healed properly I'm going to come see you. I have to stop here for now, expect to hear again from me soon, take care of yourself lucilda. love from me and your mother. She couldn't stop the tears from falling, she clutched the paper to her chest and bursted into tears, she never realized it but receiving the letter from her father stirred all those emotions she had been suppressing for a while, she missed her parents alot and she couldn't help it but to cry, she had been acting so strong and trying to show this men that they couldn't take her for granted that she forgot how important it was to live her life the way she wanted, she wished she could go home but then thinking about how that will only lead to them loosing their lands and maybe their lives made that decision worse, she thought of the sacrifices she made just to come here, even going to the extent of making her father weak just so she could take his place and be here, she thought of what the witches told her and she felt more pressured to stay and strive to do whatever she could just for the sake of her people. she cried out to her hearts content and she re-read the letter like one(100) hundred times more before taking out her pen to reply to her father. She was going to make him feel she was happy here, just to make him happy. she owed him that.
