Chapter 6 - Electric

1476 Words
Claudya followed her mother out of the restaurant but deep inside her, she was so eager to leave. She needed to gather her strength because after Nick was at their table to say, hi, he left her soft like a marshmallow. She was scared about the response her body was having towards him. She had never felt anything like this for anybody and this for her was new and frightening. Her mother, on the other hand, when she found out he was a new colleague, was ecstatic. She was worried that Claudya didn't have a friend or a boyfriend. And it wasn't that she was a mother and obliged to tell her child that she was beautiful, she knew that Claudya was a beautiful teenager and she always wanted the best for her. She was the good kind, always studying, never complaining, but so retreating from any social life. And she felt sorry for her. But now, when she saw a glimpse of interest from that boy, who was cute as well, she saw a shred of light. She could not stop with the questions. "Who is he? Where did he come from? Who are his parents?" Claudya was rolling her eyes. Her mom could exaggerate so much, especially because she was the one to tell her to think about maybe having some friends or a boyfriend. The role of the eyes was because she knew that guy would never show interest in her. The first thing was that Pamela seemed to be wherever he was, making sure she got all his attention. And second, well, she was feeling miserable now, wearing that hot jumpsuit and drawing attention. This was the total opposite of what she wanted daily. She was a withdrawn girl. A shadow. She was having plans for the future and a guy wasn't in them. She was dreaming of taking her mother away from there and providing for her. She had been raised so well, to take care of her, but she deserved to finally have someone taking care of her. And that was exactly what she was planning to do. She entered the car with her mother, in part sad because her mother was seeing more than she was, but on the other hand, happy seeing her that cheerful. And surely it wasn't from the glass of wine she had. She drank one too and was feeling now that it was having its effect. She felt like all the tension was slowly evaporating and was hearing her mother all the way home talking about the same thing, she was talking and she was answering and she was just very comfortable with that. She was in a mood so ready to fall asleep, just waiting to get home. Her thoughts were constantly getting to Nick though. How he approached their table, the fire in his eyes, and mostly, the feelings she had when he touched her hand. She almost sighed. The man was a devil in a suit, ready to take on her soul. She smiled, almost imagining him doing that. They arrived quite fast because there was less traffic than when they went to the restaurant. Her mom parked the car in the driveway and got out, so to go straight to bed. Claudy got out and felt a bit revigorated by the air of the night. She almost fell asleep in the car because of the heat, but she wasn't ready to go to sleep. Almost sure about the dreams she was going to have. She straightened her legs before entering when she heard his deep voice from somewhere near. 'Now I've lost it!' she said. 'I started to hear his voice everywhere. But it wasn't everywhere. When she turned her head she saw him in the light of his car, it was hard to miss him. How on earth had she not seen him? She remained open-mouthed for a few seconds. "What are you doing here?" she asked. "Weren't you at dinner when we left?" He smiled at her and started to get closer to her until he was half a step from her. Looked at her from toe to head, stopping in her eyes. "I have to see you one more time before I go home," he said in a low voice. There was that fire in his eyes again, igniting. "You are so beautiful Claudya. With your permission, I would like to do something..." he said while he came even closer to her. Claudya was all confused, swallowing hard and feeling agitated with him so close to her. She took her courage and asked, "What do you want to do?" she whispered. He came so near to her that his chest was almost touching hers, needed only another move to be close enough, and raised his hand up, slowly caressing her cheeks. "I want to kiss you, kiss you so hard and well that you could feel my kiss for days, I want to imprint your lips on mine." With no more introduction, he leaned his head over her lips, at first slowly touching them. Claudya started to tremble, and she was sure it wasn't because of the cold. He got deeper in a kiss, slowly caressing her lips. He got his arms around her and, out of the impulse, she got her arms around his neck. 'My first kiss, she thought. While he was going deeper with it, discovering her mouth, she moaned slowly out of pleasure and that made him more confident to go further. He got her close to kiss her well, as he promised. In the heat of the moment, they did not hear the front door opening and the sound of sleepers coming around the car quickly. Claudya was at the same spot as where she got out of the car. Beatrice cleared her through behind them, and both of them stopped with their hands flying from one another. Nick came forward to Beatrice's mom, almost hiding Claudya behind him, protecting her. "I am sorry madam, it is my fault I kept Claudya out so late." Claudia's mom was looking at Nick amused. "Young man, I don't have anything to say about that, especially because I saw my daughter not having any complaints, but we do have neighbors, and this is a respectable house. You can come to visit my daughter at other more appropriate hours." Nick looked at her with his mouth almost open. He didn't expect that. He thought she would take him by the ears. He smiled and answered, "I will surely do that, madam," and turned to Claudya. She was all read. When she heard her mom's voice she thought the worse and now she was impressed. But still ashamed. Her mother had never caught her with a guy, so it was a new experience for both of them. "I will come tomorrow morning to take you to school." and he kissed her on the forehead. He said good night to Beatrice's mom, and off he went. Before Claudya's tongue started working again, he was in that ridiculously expensive car of his and disappeared. She heard her mom saying with an amused tone while going into the house, "Very mannered boy, I like it." "C'mon dear, you will get a cold and you need to be fresh for tomorrow morning," she said, smiling. Claudya rolled her eyes in exasperation while going into the house. "Oh, mom. You kill me!" she said with exasperation in her voice. Back at the restaurant, Pamela was trying to lay low in the corner where Nick was standing a minute ago. 'He would pay me this insult! So help me God', she was thinking while trying to scatter some food from her plate, but all her appetite was gone. "I think you need to grab him. I haven't raised you so far to not being able to turn a man's head. I don't want excuses", her mother said. Pamela raised her eyes from the plate and looked into the cold blue eyes of her mother. She couldn't agree more. She had been waiting for so long to leave their house and wouldn't accept less eighter. He had money, and she wanted a comfortable life. They were a match made in heaven. She didn't know exactly how many, but surely her father would find out something because he was chatting with Nick's uncle. She clenched her teeth and answered her bossy mother who raised an impeccable daughter, or that was what she thought, "Of course, mother." She stopped eating and ordered a glass of wine. Her nerves were needed and with all these important people at the table, her mom wouldn't say anything. She needed to calm her nerves. 'That little slut Claudya will find out who I am if she tries anything with Nick!'
