Chapter Sixteen

Out of curiosity, she decided to check it out.   "I'm sorry Sean but I have to go, we can talk about it next time. Thanks for the treat." She bid her goodbye then went in the opposite direction of where she saw Lucifer.   "Okay! Have fun!" Sean said back then clenched his head. "All you have to do is confess, why can't you do it?! You coward, stupid person!" 'If I'm correct, he's trying to follow me. But why?" Angel thought.   Angel continued walking away from the place of where she spotted Lucifer. If her intuition was correct, then Lucifer is following her. She turned around the corner and hid behind a bin. When Lucifer followed her there and couldn't see her, he jumped down from the roof and looked around to search for her.   "Aren't Assassin supposed to be more careful of revealing themselves to the person that they follow?" Angel questioned while crossing her arms.   Lucifer turned around to face her and was shocked that she caught him. "So what are you doing here?"   "I…" Lucifer took a deep breath then sigh. "I came to apologise for what happened yesterday, I shouldn't have acted that way and I should not have left you alone in the forest."   "It's fine, the Nature helped me anyway." Angel replied and Lucifer raised an eyebrow but returned them back to normal as he finds it funny.    "That's… something." Lucifer commented and Angel nodded.   "I know, I think the Nature really likes me!" Angel closed her eyes while smiling, forgetting about the arguments. "Anyways, is there something I should know about the Troupe since I'm part of it?"   Lucifer widens his eyes as he remembers their upcoming mission.   'No, too dangerous for her.' Thought Lucifer.   "Not in the meantime, Captain gives us mission from time to time depending on our skills so for you, I think writing that love song should be your priority." Lucifer replied and Angel pouted.   "That's unfair, I mean you're the Assassin of the troupe, Phinks is the Boxer and Shane is the hacker." Angel stated.   "And the 'Brain' of the troupe." Shane added as he appeared around the corner. "I also have nothing to do so I went to check on you."   "Shane!" Angel exclaimed while doing their friendship gestured that ends up with a peace sign. "Since when did you become a bad guy?"   "Since we left the orphanage." Shane replied. "I think you would have been one of us before but you got adopted.   "Haha yeah and it was the worst thing that happened in my life, we should have a time of catching up." Angel suggested and Shane glanced at Lucifer.   "Actually, I was going to go shopping because I'm running out of tools so, I'll leave the two of you." Shane said before leaving.   "Okay, maybe next time!" Angel waved then faced Lucifer. "So, you have any plans for today?"   "Do you wanna know how fast can Assassins run?" Lucifer questioned and Angel had an idea of what he was planning.   "Slow down! It's too steep!" Angel screamed.   Angel was currently at Lucifer's back and he was running her around the forest. Angel was impressed that Lucifer was so fast at running even though he was three inches taller than her.   "So do you do this all the time?" Angel questioned and held tighter.   Somehow Lucifer was feeling uneasy because of her touch but it also gave him the energy to run.   "Only when I'm on a mission, I mostly spend my time in my room." Lucifer answered and soon he puts her down when they turned into an alleyway where they met.   "Wow, you are actually fast at running. Do all Assassins run that fast?" Angel asked and Lucifer shrugged.   "Can't say all but mostly are." He replied.   There was a moment of silence between them before Lucifer decided to break it.   "So what's the reason of why you stopped writing love songs?" He questions and Angel half smiled. "Well, after I got adopted from the orphan, my foster parents treated me like a maid. More like Cinderella and then one day, when I turned fourteen, my mother found me and took me in. She must have been my Prince Charming. At that exact age, my boss, Peter, was my mum's friends. He saw some of my lyrics and he hired me. At that time, I would always write love songs but three months later, my mum had stage three cancer and died. Ever since that day I got lost, I didn't know what to do. She was the only one who made me feel like myself. The only one who loved me. With her death, I lost interest in writing love songs and it turned into a sad or brokenhearted one." Angel explained. Lucifer wondered if what she felt towards her mother was the same one she felt for him before, but who knew because they were still kids back then who only care about having fun. Angel just realised as well that he opened up for Lucifer, which she never does with anyone except Shane and Phinks. Somehow she felt like she could trust him, like she can depend on him whenever she needs help. A new feeling was inside her, or it would rather be an old feeling that she had forgotten. As they were walking, Lucifer felt like someone was following them. He stopped on his track, which Angel also did because she got confused on why he needed to stop.   “What’s wrong?” Angel questioned.   Lucifer looked behind him to check who was following, Angel followed his gaze but didn’t see anyone.  'Damn it, this might be trouble.' Lucifer thought while glancing at Angel.   “We got company.” Lucifer replied and Angel looked around to see what he meant but still couldn’t spot anyone. “What do you mean?” Angel asked and Lucifer reached for his dagger that was on his waist. “Four behind us, two at the corner and one where I killed the guard before.”
