Chapter Three

It was only Sean who tried understanding her even though she never really notice him. He put up with her even though she kept ignoring him. They were like a couple but not at the same time. It was a one sided love but a very patient lover. "You… you shouldn't have saved me… I've been a burden to you, you should have just let me die…" Angel sobbed and this breaks Sean's heart even more. Whatever she was facing, she never really told anyone and all her problems builds up like a balloon until one day it popped without anyone knowing. "You're my friend, and friends will always be there when they need each other. Right now, this is the time you need me the most." Sean explained and continued stroking Angel's hair. "But but… you've been trying to save me for a long time now and… and I know that I'm only a burden to you…" Angel looked up to see Sean's eyes and Sean hated seeing her that way. "A friend will never be a burden. Just like what they say, 'True friends aren't the ones who makes your problems disappear, they are the ones who won't disappear when you're facing problems' and that is why I will never leave your side no matter what happens. I will always be here for you, a shoulder to cry on and a friend to share all your problems. You don't need to face your problems alone, you can share them with me." Sean lightly caressed Angel's cheek. Hearing the words of Sean made Angel cried even more. She never actually knew that there's someone who cares deeply for her and this was the first time she felt like she wasn't alone. She has a friend by her side and he is not willing to give up on her that easily. The next day, Angel was discharged and Sean came to pick her up.  "How are you feeling?" Sean asked her. "A bit better I guess, thanks for taking care of me." Angel replied and held her wrists that was covered in bandages. "You've done so much for me but all I gave you in return is nothing." When Angel frowned, Sean placed both of his hands at the end of her lips and forced it to smile. "There, you look better that way." As soon as he lets go her lips returned back to a sad one and he sighed. "You know, I never really asked anything for return. Helping people is my job, that's why I chose to become a Doctor so I could help anyone who needs it the most." The only reason why Sean chose to be a Doctor was because he wanted to make sure that if anything happens to Angel, he would know what to do to help her. "It suits you, Doctor Sean Peterson." Angel commented and this made Sean blushed but he manages to fight it back. This was their first time having a normal conversation inside five years. "Anyways, are you hungry? Since you've been saving me for I don't know how long now, lunch will be on me." Angel suggested and Sean was dumbfounded. "I-I don't know, I mean it looks bad when the girl is the one treating the boy right?" Sean pointed out and Angel giggled which melted his heart, making him frozen in his spot. "Come on, I owe you a lifetime. It's the least I could do. It's either lunch or no lunch, your call." Angel said and when he realizes that Sean was only staring at her, she snapped her finger. "Earth to Sean, are you there?" "Huh? What?" Sean reacted then cleared his throat. "I mean, fine if you insist." They both decided that they will go somewhere simple like McDonald's. They spent their time together there until it was time to go home.  "Hey, promise me that you won't start cutting your wrist again." Sean called out and Angel made a cross sign on her chest. "I promise I won't cut myself, there are you happy?" Angel jokingly said and Sean was so happy to see her smile. "You better keep that promise. Oh I also cleaned your house already and got the back door fixed!" Sean stated before leaving. "Thanks!" Angel shouted as Sean drove away. Angel watched until she couldn't see Sean's car anymore before deciding to go inside her house. She looked in her kitchen and stared at the floor where she cut herself.  Memories started flashing in her mind again but she tried her best to ignore it. She went in her bedroom and saw the folders that she left. She sighed and decided that she will try and make a love song.  She threw the folders in the bin, got a new paper and a pen and sat down on her table. She was ready to write a love song but as soon as she was about to write, her mind went blank. She's been trying to write a love song four about four hours now but all she got was nothing but scrunched papers and lyrics that doesn't even make sense. "Stupid, useless brain!" She said to herself while bumping her head on the table three times. She then lay down for a while, resting her mind before seeing the jacket that she used to cover her cuts. She sat up and kept staring at it. She then looked at the time and it was 11:49 pm. "Wouldn't hurt if I take a stroll around the park for fresh air." She said to no one. She took her jacket, changed her shoes and went outside. She stared at the sky for a moment, taking in the sight before deciding to walk. She didn't know where to go, she just let her feet take her wherever it wants to go. "Now this is peaceful." She muttered to herself as the breeze flows onto her hair. While she was enjoying the breeze, she didn't realize that she had turned into a hallway where someone was recently killed.  "Help me!" She was snapped back to reality as soon as she heard someone screaming.
